Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the country, with more than 50 million adults suffering with joint pain. It is most common in seniors, as aging and previous injuries make older adults more prone to joint inflammation.

Since May is Arthritis Awareness Month, we want to highlight some ways to reduce arthritis pain.

• Low-impact exercises like walking, biking, or swimming can improve joint function.
• Heating pads or warm baths can alleviate stiffness.
• Foods like tart cherries, colorful veggies, walnuts, seafood, and garlic provide anti-inflammatory benefits.

The 2026 Winter Olympic Games inspired our Lexington Pointe community to host its own Winter Games competition.

Residents competed in teams of two, representing a country of their heritage. They played:

• Air hockey
• Tabletop curling
• Hockey shootout
• Snowman Mason jar toss
• Olympics ring toss

The gold medal winners were Jim M. and Rose G. of Team Canada. The silver medal winners were Norella U. and Jane H. of Team Austria. The bronze medal winners were Terri O. and Marei S. of Team Slovakia.

When it comes to birthdays, our Lexington Pointe community knows how to celebrate!

Our Garden Cove 1 residents and some of the students from All Seasons Preschool sang to Barb W. as she enjoyed another trip around the sun. There were plenty of birthday wishes and, of course, cake! Happy birthday, Barb!

Some of our Garden Cove 1 residents at Lexington Pointe recently had a game day. We played Hedbanz™, which is always good for laughter. Players ask yes or no questions to try to guess the picture on their forehead before time runs out. We heard lots of wild guesses and plenty of giggles!

Residents in our Southview communities look forward to spring for warmer temps and time outside in the fresh air. It’s also when we start planning ideas for our community gardens, which is appropriate as April is National Garden Month.

Soon, we’ll be planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables in our raised garden beds and reaping the benefits of our harvest. Gardening not only improves strength and flexibility, but it’s also a natural stress reliever and mood booster, so residents really love it!

We can’t wait to get planting!

Garden Cove 2 residents at Lexington Pointe recently spent a relaxing afternoon working together on a puzzle. We’re not sure if they have more fun completing the puzzle or sharing stories while doing it.

How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Lexington Pointe Senior Living? With a Happy Hour event and bingo, of course!

Residents, along with Residence Director Emily and Activities Director Jen, dressed in all shades of green on the March 17 holiday. We gathered to play games and enjoy snacks, including Lucky Charms® bars and an assortment of fruit cleverly arranged to look like a rainbow, with marshmallow clouds and chocolate gold coins.
