Summer weather is grilling weather—and perfect for hosting a barbecue picnic for residents at Lexington Pointe.

The menu included everything you’d expect from a backyard bash: burgers and hot dogs, fresh fruit, potato salad, chips, and dessert.

Our Fourth of July Happy Hour event at Lexington Pointe was a sparkling red, white, and blue success! We celebrated Independence Day with beverages, snacks, and a lot of laughs. Thank you to our volunteer Chelly for helping out!

From tiny birdhouses to welcome signs and more, our Lexington Pointe residents had a great time with a recent wood painting activity. Rosi even got a little wild and painted white dots on the noses of many of the artists!

On August 5, our Lexington Pointe community celebrated National Night Out. We changed the event a bit from previous years, moving it to the afternoon instead of evening, which went really well.

Residents enjoyed beautiful music from Conrad and Chris of Windwoods Duo. Some of Conrad’s family lives in our community.

We also served ice cream and had visits from two members of the Eagan Police Department. We also donated money, non-perishable food items, and toiletries to The Open Door Pantry.

Activities staff raffled off many prizes, including two tickets to a Minnesota Twins game, a gift card for Granite City Food & Brewery, a Dakota County Golf discount card, clothing, puzzles, prayer shawls, quilts, jewelry, and more.

With so many different events and activities, everyone had a blast! Some of our residents even got up to dance.

What types of activities do our Garden Cove residents participate in each day? All kinds!

Some of them include chair exercises, building blocks with the students at All Seasons Preschool, and singing karaoke. Our community offers a variety of events and activities to appeal to all interests and abilities to create a welcoming, engaging environment for everyone.

Crisp air, changing leaves, and pumpkin spice everything. Happy first day of fall!

The beauty of this new season is a reminder to slow down and enjoy the abundance of color and vibrance that surrounds us. It’s also a cue to focus on releasing old habits or negative energy to make way for renewed thoughts, positive ideas, and supportive actions.

We like to have fun in our community, and some of our Garden Cove residents at Lexington Pointe did exactly that over the past few weeks by:

• Playing a silly game of Hedbanz
• Dropping water balloons onto a bullseye target
• Playing music together

Earlier this summer, Lexington Pointe resident Van J. demonstrated a Jig Tying Tutorial for our community. The process was so interesting, and Van did a great job demonstrating and assisting others with tying their jigs. Residents Susan U., Elwood O., and Sandy S. made their own jigs as well as staffers Kelly O. and Heather P.
What a fun and unique experience for everyone!

Back in June, residents in our Lexington Pointe community enjoyed the first Patio Happy Hour event of the summer. With such beautiful weather, the day was perfect for enjoying snacks, beverages, and conversation outdoors.
