Thriver Institute’s purpose is to help children affected by trauma. Both actual children as well as the ones trapped inside adult bodies. We do this through consulting, workshops, trainings and community capacity building all designed to support creating trauma-responsive organizations and communities. Being "trauma-informed" has become a very important concept in many organizations across multiple fields. There is a great demand to understand trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and their impact on our personal as well as communal health. Thriver Institute has been developed based on the building demand to take the information from becoming trauma-informed to the next level of being trauma-responsive. At Thriver we focus on the research and science of trauma to support creating action steps that are practical in responding to community needs with a human-centered approach. Thriving is the outcome that we look at because most services focus on acute symptoms, and care of these symptoms fall short of getting people engaged in life. Thriver focuses on regulating acute symptoms to support the healing behind root causes like developmental trauma. This is done by focusing on and developing human-centered care from the inside out with organizations and communities. The basic Thriver philosophy is there is no such thing as a defective human and everyone deserves the right to the human-centered care and support they need to thrive. A Thriver Lives to Thrive!
