The first-ever Artability solo exhibition, SkyScraping—Artworks by Gerus was a huge success. We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us to support Jane and experience her powerful, expressive work.

From meaningful conversations to moments of reflection, the night was a true celebration of creativity, resilience, and community. Jane’s artwork filled the space with color, movement, and emotion—inviting all of us to slow down, look closer, and connect.

A special thank you to everyone who attended, shared kind words, and showed support for Jane and the Artability program through People Incorporated. Your presence made the evening even more meaningful.

We’re excited to recognize Mayna Thao for the incredible impact she brings to our team at People Incorporated.

Mayna’s positive energy, sense of humor, and willingness to jump in wherever needed make her an essential part of our day-to-day work. She creates a welcoming, supportive environment at the front desk—helping clients feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease from the moment they walk in.

Her teamwork and reliability don’t go unnoticed. Whether things are running smoothly or the day gets busy, Mayna and the front desk team bring a sense of calm, collaboration, and even a little laughter to the moment.

We’re grateful for the compassion, dedication, and heart Mayna brings to her role every day.

Famous for her iconic polka dots and repeated patterns, Yayoi Kusama has used art as a way to manage obsessive thoughts and hallucinations. For her, repetition isn’t just aesthetic—it’s calming, grounding, and healing.

Her work reminds us that creating patterns and engaging with repetition can bring focus, comfort, and relief, even during challenging moments.

Today, we celebrate the incredible social workers who dedicate their time, compassion, and expertise to supporting individuals, families, and communities.

At People Incorporated, our social workers play a vital role in helping people navigate challenges, access resources, and move toward stability and well-being.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact is profound—providing guidance during difficult moments, advocating for those who need support, and helping people build stronger, healthier futures.

To all the social workers on our team and in our community: thank you for the care, commitment, and heart you bring to this work every day.

We’re grateful for the difference you make.

Recently, Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator Jeannie Smith and Marketing and Community Engagement Manager Danny Messinger, had the opportunity to visit and tour the home of the Minnesota Twins.

People Incorporated is excited to announce that we will be featured as part of the Twins At Bat for Impact during cycle 2 (Care & Connection), May 12 - June 21.

During the season, the Minnesota Twins and Thrivent will spotlight nonprofits across Minnesota and invite fans to learn more about each nonprofit's work. The more engagement each nonprofit gets, the more donation dollars are unlocked to support that organization's impact.

We are so excited for this opportunity and can't wait to share more with you all.

Recovery looks different for everyone — but stories like this remind us what support, connection, and persistence can make possible.

One individual shared how their time with People Incorporated’s Nancy Page program helped them find stability and begin moving forward in their mental health and substance use recovery journey. What started as a single week of support became a lasting turning point — one that continues today with nearly four years of sobriety and a daily practice of gratitude.

Stories of healing don’t happen overnight. They’re built through small steps, consistent support, and the courage to keep going.
We’re honored to walk alongside individuals as they rediscover hope, strength, and new beginnings.

We’re proud to celebrate Jane Gerus and her exhibition SkyScraping. Jane’s work is deeply inspired by color, movement, and the ever-changing sky—elements that continue to shape her creative voice today.

Through years of dedication to her craft, Jane has built a powerful artistic practice rooted in resilience, reflection, and expression. Her paintings invite viewers to slow down, look upward, and experience the emotion and energy that color can hold.

Programs like Artability through People Incorporated celebrate artists like Jane, whose creativity strengthens our arts community and reminds us of the transformative power of art.

Join us in celebrating Jane and her work on Thursday, March 12, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Flux Arts Building. Enjoy snacks, drinks, and a short talk from Jane about her art while experiencing SkyScraping in person.

If you can’t make the reception, the exhibition will be open daily from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM through March 14 at the Flux Arts Building. We hope you’ll stop by and see her inspiring work.

Artability is thrilled to launch a new annual initiative that will sponsor one Artability artist each year to present a solo exhibition.

We’re proud to kick off this tradition with our inaugural featured artist, Jane Gerus, a long-time Artability participant.

Jane’s solo exhibition, SkyScraping, is open to the public now until March 14th, and will hold a public reception on March 12th from 5:00–7:00 PM at Flux Arts.

We invite Artability participants, supporters, and community members to join us in celebrating Jane and showing support for the incredible creativity within our community.

In the years ahead, Artability artists will be invited to apply for this opportunity, with a new featured artist selected and announced annually.

Applications will open each November and close in mid-December. Artists will be notified of the selection in January.
