Hello, my name is Lisa, my husbands name is Bobby and he has kidney disease. His kidney's failed due to clogged arteries which go to each kidney. He has been on dialysis for the past two years, this entails being attached to a machine for nine hours every night. I'm saying all this to ask for a kidney donation. It's a lot to ask a person to give a kidney, so let me explain what to expect. First of all, all expenses are paid for by the VA, the procedure will be done in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and an estimated time for recovery would be six weeks. Bob's blood type is A+ you would have to be A- or A+ to donate. We are on the list for a cadaver kidney but it will take us 3-5 years to get one. The cadaver kidneys take up to three weeks to start working but if we have a live kidney it begins working right away.

Let me tell you a little bit about my husband of 41 years. We have two daughters and 7 grandchildren. We live in a town called Eagle Lake which is located in Northern Maine, which is 20 minutes from the Canadian border. My husband served in the miltary during the cold war in Germany on the iron curtian before it was torn down, he was an MP. He enjoys playing lead guitar and working on road construction. Currently he is unable to do any type of construction.
