Loved spending time with these incredible future SLPs at BYU!

It was such a privilege to come share, connect, and talk about what it really looks like to support kids and families in the real world. I’m always inspired by the next generation stepping into this field with so much passion and purpose.

The future of speech therapy is bright! ☀️

Yes/no questions sound simple… but they’re actually a big language skill.

Many toddlers learn to say “no” before “yes”, and that’s completely normal. If your child says “no” when they mean “yes,” don’t panic — they’re still learning how these words work.

Language grows best when kids feel successful.

Save this post if it was helpful & share with another parent who might need the reassurance.

Not all learning happens sitting still.

For some kids, movement helps their bodies regulate - which makes space for language to grow!

When kids can move, they’re often better able to communicate 💬

Don’t know what your child said? Take a guess!

When children are learning to talk, guessing isn’t “doing it wrong” — it’s how communication grows.

If you’re right, you reinforce their words.
If you’re wrong, you create an opportunity for them to show you another way.

Stay calm. Stay curious. Keep trying.
That’s how language develops!

The biggest secret to speech therapy?

It doesn’t just happen in the clinic. For our youngest learners, progress comes from everyday moments—play, routines, and connection. Parents shape the environment. Kids get to be kids.

Have questions about how to support language at home? Send us a DM—we’re happy to help.

✨ True or False? Birth order affects language development ✨

Many parents notice differences between their first, second, or third child—and language is no exception. While younger siblings may hit milestones a little differently, research shows they typically are not more likely to have a language delay.

Every child develops in their own way!
