Lately it feels like everyone is carrying a little more than usual. The news cycle is heavy. Schedules are full. Finances, family responsibilities, health worries, world events—it all adds up. If you’ve noticed your stress levels creeping higher or your anxiety feeling harder to shake, you’re not weak… you’re human.
You are not alone in this. So many people are quietly doing their best while feeling overwhelmed inside.
When things start to feel out of control, it can help to gently shift attention back to what is within your reach:
• Take a few slow, steady breaths and let your shoulders drop
• Step outside for a short walk or get a bit of sunlight
• Limit how much news or social media you consume for the day
• Make a short list of what actually needs your energy right now
• Do one small thing that brings your nervous system a sense of safety—music, a warm drink, stretching, calling someone you trust
Small moments of steadiness really do matter.
And if things feel like too much to hold on your own, you don’t have to. Support is available, and reaching out is a strong and courageous step.
If you or someone you love could use extra support right now, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help. 💛 Alexander Counseling Center, 541-826-8282 or visit us online at www.alexandercounseling.org
