Behavior Matters is a small privately owned business headquartered in Eagle River, Alaska. We also have offices in the Florida, Nebraska, and California, and New Jersey. We were established in 2010, at a time when the State of Alaska only had a handful Behavior Analysts, none of which were in private practice. Since that time, Behavior Matters has opened offices in under-served areas. The CEO of the company visits each location quarterly to provide training, mentor professionally with staff and lead team building activities. At Behavior Matters we strive to provide the best research-based ABA interventions in a multitude of settings. Behavior Matters offers services in three different states. Our Alaska clinic is located in Eagle River, serving Anchorage & the Mat-Su Valley. Our Nebraska office provides clinic based services for the Greater Omaha area. Our newest office located in northern California provides clinic-based services for the Vacaville and Fairfield areas, and home, clinic and community-based services in the Central Valley. We have a fantastic staff of BCBAs, BCABAs, RBTs and Behavior Technicians. Behavior Matters' employees have experience and/or extensive education and training in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Many of our technicians are in school to become Board Certified. Each member of the Behavior Matters Team has been handpicked for their expertise, compassion, and eagerness to serve families of children with developmental delays. We proudly offer ABA Therapy to our clients. ABA Therapy is a behavioral therapy which uses positive reinforcement and carefully collected data to help clients learn the skills and behaviors. ABA Therapy is the #1 recommended therapy for children with Autism. It has also been recognized for its amazing benefit to individuals with any developmental disabilities. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) combined with highly individualized and caring attention can bring significant improvements in children of all ages and abilities. Early intervention is critical to the success of each child. Set your child on the best path for success with us at Behavior Matters. Call today and experience the difference ABA can make in your child's life. And in yours. At Behavior Matters, each program will be developed to help families with loved ones diagnosed with developmental disabilities such as, Autism, PPD or Asperger’s Syndrome. The program will be developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analysts and utilizes principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to change behavior. Applied Behavior Analysis owes no affiliation with a particular intervention; rather it is a scientific problem-solving approach aimed at producing socially significant behavior changes for the purpose of improving quality of life for individuals, families and communities. Turn-taking matters at every age, whether it’s sharing a game, a conversation, or a task.

The goal isn’t doing it perfectly… it’s simply taking part.

Progress isn’t perfection: it’s participation.

How to encourage turn-taking at home or in the community:

• Use simple phrases like “my turn” and “your turn.”

• Start with short turns and build up gradually.

• Use visual cues (timers, pointing, or turn cards).

• Practice with preferred activities to keep motivation high.

• Celebrate every successful turn — even tiny ones!

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body.” — Romans 12:4–5

We are not meant to be the same — and that’s the beauty of it. Different strengths, different needs, different paths… all working together with purpose. Every role matters, and every person belongs. 🤍✨

ABA therapy focuses on teaching meaningful skills that support independence, communication, and daily life.

It’s personalized, data-driven, and centered around each individual’s unique needs — not “one-size-fits-all.”

Support looks different for everyone, and ABA meets people where they are. 💛

Growth doesn’t always come from easy moments. Sometimes it comes from perseverance, courage, and showing up even when things are hard. Every small victory along the way matters. 💛

Myth: Autism looks the same in every person.

Truth: Autism is a spectrum — meaning it shows up differently in every individual.

Abilities, challenges, strengths, and needs vary widely. There is no “one way” to be autistic — and that diversity deserves understanding and respect. 💛
