We are so proud to announce an exciting collaborative partnership between TruNorth Respite and Chick A Dee Acres.

TruNorth Respite and Chick-a-Dee Acres are collaborating to share inclusive meet-ups and community experiences designed to foster connection, friendship, and belonging for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers.

These are not drop-off programs or respite services, but rather disability and caregiver-supported opportunities to participate in local community events together in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Activities may include community dinners, dances, game day, movie night, seasonal shows, outdoor experiences, local events, and other social gatherings throughout the Northwoods.

We’re continuing to welcome vendors for the 2026 Disability Proud Festival hosted by Midstate Independent Living Choices!

If you sell handmade items, artwork, baked goods, jewelry, clothing, home décor, or other unique products, we’d love to have you join us for this community celebration. All vendors are welcome, and we especially encourage disability-owned businesses and creators with disabilities to apply.

Today’s adventure on the Star Lake Nature Trail was nothing short of incredible ☀️🌲The sun was shining bright, the birds were singing, and the trail was bursting with new life everywhere we looked. Moments like these remind us how important fresh air, connection, movement, and community truly are. 💚

Some of the best memories are made outdoors — so get outside explore , laugh , and simply enjoy the beauty around you. 🌿✨
