Several times a month our team has the privilege of honoring patients who served our Country.

Today it was a double blessing for a patient who served in the Marines and the Navy for a total of over 20 years. 🇺🇸

We’re grateful to all the Veteran volunteers who show up to make the recognition ceremonies extra memorable and special.

When asked if they’ve ever been publicly recognized and honored for their service to our Country, 99% of the time they say no.

So we take care of that. 🇺🇸

These two gentlemen joined the Lighthouse team of hospice volunteers, today. 🎉🎉🎉

They completed their Volunteer Orientation and are ready to visit some of our male patients to offer support and companionship. Our patients who are Veterans will especially enjoy these visits. 🇺🇸

A darling 94 year old Alzheimer’s patient was gifted this homemade fidget blanket today by Deanna, our Volunteer Coordinator.

The patient’s face lit up as she received her blanket.

Meanwhile, the patient’s daughter was thrilled to hear how much support she can receive from our wonderful hospice volunteers Deanna will facilitate for her. Companion visits, meal deliveries, and snow removal.

At Lighthouse Hospice, the patients are priority but their caregivers and families are never invisible.
