The path to Yoga isn’t always linear
The breath is not always regulated, slowed, relaxed
The movement is not always subtle, controlled, graceful or as planned
The mind isn’t always quiet, still, and unbothered

Sometimes Yoga is hearing the cars drive by while you’re in downward dog
It Is watching car lights echo off the walls as you steady dancer pose
It Is the good morning as each Yogi enters the building
It is the cough in the middle of Savasana
It Is the warrior three that has difficulty standing strong
Or perhaps the child’s pose that gives moments of respite as you recall the to do list you need to pick up for the day
Yoga is the music playlist that keeps skipping or suddenly stops playing in the middle of a flow
Or the eyes that glanced at the clock to reassure themselves, they’ve got this
It is the community that comes together supporting each other when things go awry
Or the one sock left behind in the cubby
Yoga is regulation, Yoga is human, yoga is balance!

What we know yoga is not……. Conformity, a race, the same for each body, unkind, perfection, dishonest and linear

Side Angle Pose (Utthita Parsvakonasana) is a powerful posture that strengthens the legs, core, and ankles while opening the hips, chest, and shoulders.
