I had the opportunity to speak with students from Temple University’s Law Enforcement and Government Services Student Organization about the work of the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and how we collaborate with law enforcement.

Many people don’t realize the full scope of what our office does, but our work plays a vital role in serving families and strengthening Montgomery County, PA community safety. It’s important for the next generation of public-service leaders to understand how our roles connect, and I’m proud to share how we work together to support the community we all serve.

I had the privilege of speaking to the Franconia Township Police Department Citizens Police Academy with my Chief Deputy Alexander Balacki.

We were able to share an in-depth look at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office: how we serve our community, support families during some of their hardest moments, and the many ways we stay involved through outreach and education.

Having a curious and thoughtful group made for meaningful conversation.

Opportunities like this help build understanding and strengthen the connection between our office and the Montgomery County, PA community we serve.

Grateful for another meaningful End‑of‑Life Planning event. A sincere thank‑you to Montgomery County, PA Register of Wills Tina Lawson Esq. and Jeanne Sorg, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds for taking the time to speak, and to Rep. Ben Sanchez for hosting the event.

These conversations aren’t always easy to start, but as Montgomery County Coroner I see firsthand how incredibly important they are. When you understand the process, it becomes an empowering way to care for the people you love.

Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus. Event in Harrisburg in recognition of Black Maternal Health Week (April 11–17).

I listened to powerful stories from Black mothers and advocates navigating a system that too often fails to hear or protect them. As a Black woman, mother, physician, and Montgomery County Coroner - this is deeply personal. My own birthing story fuels my commitment to this work.

The reality is sobering: over 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable, yet Black women are still 3 times more likely to die from these causes. We must do better.

I’m committed to using my voice and my role to advocate for change because protecting Black mothers means protecting families, communities, and our future.

Grateful to connect with House Speaker Rep. Joanna McClinton, be recognized on the House floor, spend time with Montgomery County, PA legislators, and a special "Thank You" to Rep. Gregory Scott for the mini tour.

Had a great time attending the Methacton High School Job Fair last week. It was inspiring to meet so many students who were genuinely curious about the work we do in the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and interested to learn the different ways we support our Montgomery County, PA community.

Giving students the chance to explore different paths helps them discover where their strengths and passions can take them in the future.

Yesterday, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office hosted its Third Annual Donate Life Month Flag‑Raising Ceremony in recognition of Donate Life Month, observed each April.

I extend my sincere appreciation to Christine Radolovic, Chief Clinical Officer of the Gift of Life Donor Program, and Leif Henry, Gift of Life Program Coroner Liaison, for their continued partnership and for sharing their expertise.

I also want to thank Rep. Joe Webster for speaking as well as our local leaders and row officers for joining us in support of this important cause.

A special thank‑you to Liz McNaney for bravely sharing her son Alex’s story. As a recipient of a donor heart, Alex’s journey is a powerful reminder of the life‑saving impact of organ donation.

I encourage the Montgomery County, PA community to honor Donate Life Month by learning more about organ donation, spreading awareness, and consider registering as an organ donor.
