✨ Is baby hungry… or just sleepy? ✨
It can be tricky to tell the difference! Watch for early cues—like rooting or sucking on hands for hunger, and yawns or rubbing eyes for sleep. Learning these signals can help you respond before baby becomes overtired or fussy 💛

And remember, babies discover their hands around 3ish months, which means sucking on their hands is no longer a reliable hunger cue. They just like exploring their new found skill!

✨ Big news! I’m officially an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)! ✨⁠

When my first baby was born in 2019, I fell in love with breastfeeding—despite the challenges we faced with her tongue tie. Thanks to my amazing IBCLC, Lauren Van Pelt, we made it through. And that experience planted a seed. ⁠

I remember walking with my husband one night and saying, *“If I could do it all over again, I’d become a lactation consultant.”*⁠
⁠
It didn’t seem possible at the time—I was working as a school-based SLP. But step by step, course by course, client by client, I built something new. In 2022, I opened my private practice. In 2023, I became a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. And this year, after completing UC San Diego’s lactation consultant training program and countless hours of study, I sat for the IBCLC exam—and passed!⁠
