✨ Big news! I’m officially an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)! ✨

When my first baby was born in 2019, I fell in love with breastfeeding—despite the challenges we faced with her tongue tie. Thanks to my amazing IBCLC, Lauren Van Pelt, we made it through. And that experience planted a seed.

I remember walking with my husband one night and saying, *“If I could do it all over again, I’d become a lactation consultant.”*

It didn’t seem possible at the time—I was working as a school-based SLP. But step by step, course by course, client by client, I built something new. In 2022, I opened my private practice. In 2023, I became a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. And this year, after completing UC San Diego’s lactation consultant training program and countless hours of study, I sat for the IBCLC exam—and passed!

Helping families feed their babies is the most meaningful work I’ve ever done. I’m so proud of the journey, and so excited to continue supporting YOU.

The lactation nerd in me was so excited to see that the first ever lactation pod was installed right here in my home state of Vermont! I grew up on the other side of the state, so this is actually my first time in the Burlington airport. But how cool is that? Go Vermont!

Last week, I spent 3 days volunteering in western North Carolina with the . We assembled and distributed over 500 safe infant feeding kits, connected with relief organizations, and supported parents with breastfeeding, pumping, and formula feeding. My very generous friends and family donated over $1500 to our mission, and I am so grateful! Babies are safer each day thanks to the hard work of volunteers with boots on the ground and the generosity of donors. I’m really proud to be a small part of this team ❤️

Hey friends! I’m volunteering in Asheville today to help with the infant feeding crisis following Hurricane Helene. One of our projects is putting together bottle cleaning kits so families who are pumping or formula feeding can safely clean and sanitize their feeding supplies. Sadly, hospital admissions for infants with GI issues have already increased due to unsafe feeding practices. I’ll be up here at least a couple more times this week. If you’d like to donate to our cause, please Venmo me and I’ll make sure it goes to good use! My Venmo is -Mudge
