Hydration Tips for Memory Care 💧

Staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to support wellness in memory care, yet it can often be overlooked. Proper hydration boosts energy, supports kidney function, and helps prevent dizziness or confusion. Here are a few easy reminders:

💙 Keep Water Nearby: Place cups or bottles of water within easy reach throughout the day as visual cues.
💙 Set Gentle Reminders: Caregivers can offer regular prompts and include hydration as part of daily routines.
💙 Add Flavor: Enhance water with lemon, cucumber, or mint, or provide hydrating foods like fruit, veggies, and broth-based soups.

In memory care communities, these small daily habits help residents stay comfortable, energized, and healthy.

The Mediterranean diet is a lifestyle approach that supports energy, wellness, and healthy aging. In memory care communities, this way of eating emphasizes fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean proteins, and heart-healthy fats like olive oil, all while celebrating flavor and enjoyment.

🍇 Heart Health: Antioxidant-rich produce, whole grains, and olive oil help reduce inflammation and support cardiovascular wellness.
🧠 Cognitive Support: Omega-3s, leafy greens, and berries may help preserve brain health and slow cognitive decline.
🥛 Strong Bones & Steady Energy: Calcium-rich dairy, paired with whole foods and fiber, helps maintain mobility and balanced energy throughout the day.

In memory care, nutrition is about more than meals. The Mediterranean diet supports physical health, enhances brain function, and brings comfort through fresh, flavorful foods that residents can enjoy together.
