Empty Nest Day #6 - I am not going to lie it has been hard especially evenings and weekends

Goal- improve my running pace.

When I was in my running prime my pace was 8 min mile. Life happened, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, at initial diagnosis I could not walk down stairs due to pain, a year later my schedule changed driving Aubrey to SEM impacting my running routine.

My pace slowed to approximately 10 min mile but I still got out there when I could.

Today I went for a run without a dog distraction and did intervals of speed - making my pace for 3 miles approximately 9min 33 sec it felt good.

Remember be kind to yourself and your body, it is ok if you are not as fast or as strong as you were, if you are continuing to prioritize health and fitness you are succeeding! Set small goals to maintain or improve your fitness as we age !

Empty Nest Day 1 - Aubrey is all moved into college and Will has his first official day of work! I have been a PT and mom for 23 years - my entire career and although bittersweet - I am looking forward to setting personal and professional goals.

Follow my journey... regaining some old passions, finding new hobbies and purpose, and educating women regarding current PT and fitness trends and research .

Goal #1 - get back outside on the path - consistently to work on speed work as well as regaining mileage endurance ! Remi and I hit the path this morning !

I was not planning on a baby at 49 but as we all know life is precious and our lives can drastically change in an instant….

I miss Izzy everyday but my life and lifestyle is dog friendly so I decided to rescue another puppy !

Meet Re*****on! not sure how he will be incorporated into my business but stay tuned….

Follow my sneakers!

This is my first run without Izzy, it was hard emotionally and physically.

She changed my purpose of why I got out there, it was no longer just about fitness but rather our experience together…. Today as I was on the bridge, like I always run when I am here, she showed me she was ok and with me.

Keep following my sneakers because I will continue to promote a healthy physical lifestyle and hopefully find a way to keep special rescue dogs in my BDPT world.
