🌷This Friday’s ✨spotlight✨ is on Julianne Hansen, M.A., CCC-SLP/L 🌷
Julianne has been practicing as a Speech and Language Pathologist since 2014. She has been with Aurora Audiology & Speech for 3 years now!
Julianne currently works with early intervention and preschool children in daycare and home settings. She loves using books in therapy because they’re so versatile and engaging. Her little ones love the “lift the flap” books and anything repetitive with rhymes!
Julianne told us her speech students are always saying and doing something to make her laugh. And that her favorite part of the job is hearing the funny (and sometimes weird) things that the kids are thinking!
Julianne and her family have 2 Cocker Spaniel doggies named Annie and Lily. They are quirky and just plain adorable!
In Julianne’s spare time, she spends most of her day chasing her 2 toddlers around and snuggling her little newborn baby. When she’s not busy with her babies, she likes to go for (quiet) walks, watch TV, read, and exercise.
We are so thankful to have Julianne on our team of Speech Therapists! We appreciate her kind and compassionate personality. Her speech students adore her and so do we 💜

This Friday's ✨spotlight✨ for Better Hearing & Speech Month is Dr. Stachura!!
Dr. Stachura has been practicing Audiology for 14 years and has been with Aurora Audiology for 3 years this past March.
Her favorite part of her job is seeing the positive impact that having better hearing can have in someone's life. She says "In general, people are able to feel more a part of conversations, feel more confident, and more a part of the world around them".
Dr. Stachura recalls a patient with severe to profound hearing loss who hadn't spoken on the phone in 8 years! While the patient was a long term hearing aid user in one ear, Dr. Stachura guided her toward an appropriate set of hearing aids for both ears. For the first time, this patient was able to speak on the phone using Bluetooth capability and binaural hearing, which made a huge difference for her! Happy tears were shed, and she even began working again (with a job that required her to be on the phone!) as she gained the confidence that she needed.
In Dr. Stachura's spare time she enjoys being outside; camping, going for walks, and gardening. She also enjoys reading and taekwondo! Her family has 2 rescue cats, Guppy and Sibby, as pictured. Her son also has a pet hermit crab, named Hermie!
Dr. Stachura is one of the kindest, most even tempered people we have ever met. She looks for the good in everything, and always has a positive attitude! We are grateful to be working with her every day!

Our next ✨spotlight✨ is on Carly Morris, M.A. CCC-SLP!
Carly has been practicing as a Speech Language Pathologist for 5 years and has been with Aurora Audiology for almost a year now. Carly works with children birth to 5 years old. One of her favorite speech activities is to involve play with mini objects. Carly finds it funny that some of her students often call her "Miss Speech"! Carly loves watching her students grow, especially when she gets to see a child say a new word for the first time!
In Carly's spare time she enjoys reading and coloring. She has two cats named Latte and Dunkin! And obviously love coffee!
We are so happy to have Carly on our team of Speech Therapists! We adore her colorful and bubbly personality! Just seeing Carly will brighten your day 😁

Our first ✨spotlight✨ is on Heather Broadbent MS CCC/L-SLP!
Heather has an amazing 28.5 years with local students and is closing in on 17 years with Aurora Audiology & Speech! She works with Early Intervention and Preschool Children 0-5 years old in homes, daycares, preschools, and Universal Pre-K in the Southtowns.
One of Heather's favorite speech activities is singing! She loves using musical instruments and felt board songs to engage the children in talking. They always love it too! Heather says “Speech” is a difficult word to say for children under 5, so usually the child will tell his or her teacher “I’m going to beach”. It makes her laugh each time!
Heather says she enjoys being a Speech Pathologist because she loves teaching a child 1:1, so she can modify and adapt her lessons to meet their language needs. She also loves that her work is play, using toys, games and crafts to meet language goals. It keeps her young!
Heather and her family have 2 Yellow Labs named Kona and Luna, and a Blue Russian cat named MotoMoto. She couldn’t imagine a home without pets!
In Heather's spare time, she loves to research and plan trips around the county and world with her husband- Chris, and her 2 kids- Reaghan and Carter. She also enjoys running, skiing and Zumba. Heather belongs to a Book Club, and loves to watch reality shows like Survivor and the Amazing Race. "Go BILLS!"
We can't say enough about Heather's dedication to her career & the children she works with! We appreciate her cheerful, positive attitude, her accuracy and awesome organizational skills! Thank you Heather!

✨ Here's what you can do on your own to keep your devices🦻 clean between visits for professional routine clean & checks ✨
☑️Brush or wipe off visible wax. Never use water or any chemicals!
☑️Run your brush across the microphones to remove any debris.
☑️Inspect and replace the wax guards(filters) if necessary.
☑️Store your hearing aids in the case or charger when you're not wearing them.
