Water Births:

Like any other delivery method, water birth has its unique considerations and potential risks, which health care providers and expectant parents should evaluate thoroughly. ”

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to conduct a thorough and contemporary assessment of maternal and neonatal outcomes associated with water birth in comparison with land-based birth.

Interestingly the epidural became popular due to feminist activism.
And now, here we are working to return to unmedicated births and fighting for the right to deliver the way we choose without judgement, coercion and fear mongering.

While it’s great we have the right to choose the way it is pushed in the hospital knowing how it can impact not only the length and quality of labor but the lasting impact it can have on the body is alarming.

Looking to connect 10 black pregnant women in the Denver Metro area to resources to provide birth doula support and/or 6-8 weeks of in person postpartum support. Estimated date for baby's arrival has to be by September 2024. If after this period, please still submit to be contacted in the future. The deadline to submit your request is 15 March.
