Huff Funeral Home

Huff Funeral Home Huff Funeral Home is the oldest funeral home in Yadkin County. With over a century of service we are proud to be here when you need us most.

In 1873 Jonathan "JG" Huff started Huff Funeral home and began a tradition of serving Yadkin County families. At the turn of the century and upon JG's death his son Charles "CB" Huff entered the profession upon completion of his training at Reynard School of Embalming in New York City. He then partnered with Bob Burchette and Huff Burchette Funeral Home was formed. During the 1940's CB's son Richa

rd Huff Sr. decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and took over controlling interest in the business. The business was then renamed Huff Funeral Home and expanded to 3 locations including Boonville and Jonesville. In the 1970's Richard Huff, Jr. decided to enter the profession and the business was passed on to him. During Richard Jr.'s tenure he reduced the business to one location in East Bend and continued on his family's tradition of caring service. In 2005 Richard realized the need to slow down and pursue other interests and with no family interested he decided to sell the business to Georgia Funeral Director, Jeff Hatcher. In 2009 Cox Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain (est. 1913) learned of its financial instability and a pending bankruptcy at Huff Funeral Home/CMG Inc. and decided to bring the business back into local hands and provide financial stability by aquiring Huffs and keeping it a locally owned business. As we look to the future, Huff Funeral Home and Cox Needham will remain a locally owned business commited to the East Bend and Yadkin County community, carrying on the tradition of more than a century of caring service.

Picking the right song for a funeral isn’t simple, but use these 5 tips to find the song that feels right.
1. Look Up the Lyrics - Listen closely to the songs you’re considering. Look up the lyrics to make sure they have the meaning you think they will.
2. Personalize it - Consider using a song that your loved one already loved or that has memories attached to it. If you can, look through their personal music collection.
3. Set the Tone - Music has a way of setting the entire tone of an event. It’s important to consider this when choosing a song.
4. Ask family and friends for their input! Maybe they know what song your loved one wanted or they have suggestions.
5. Before you start the search, consider what you want this song to say about your loved one and how you want them to be remembered.

Funerals are a celebration of life. Yes, they’ll be hard, but they’re as necessary as weddings. Go anyway!
