World AIDS Day will always stay with me in a personal way. I began my social work career during the height of the AIDS epidemic, when fear, loss, and stigma were everywhere — but so were courage, resilience, and love.

I witnessed the power of chosen family, the harm of discrimination, and the strength of people facing the unknown with grace. Those moments shaped the social worker — and the human — I became.

Today, I honor the lives lost, the lives still living with HIV, and the activists and caregivers who refused to look away. The fight against stigma isn’t over, and compassion remains our most powerful tool.

May we never forget. ❤️🎗️
