Kids are disproportionately impacted by toxic air pollution because their lungs are still developing. The Academy of Pediatrics is also actively involved in environmental and legislative causes impacting our children. We are hoping everyone is reflecting on our environment on this happy Earth Day.

Spring is here and unfortunately so are pollen allergies. Pollen from trees, grasses and weeds is one of the most common allergens and can cause sneezing and itching. Keeping your windows closed during the spring season when pollen counts are high can help alleviate or prevent allergy symptoms. Please also make sure those who need it have started their allergy medications. Let us know if you have any questions. Have a great week everyone!

Newborns have very little vitamin K in their bodies at birth, and they need it to help their blood form clotting. Without it, babies are over 80 times more likely to get a serious bleeding condition than those who do get the shot, called vitamin K deficiency. If you are expecting and have any questions ask us!

Please take care as wind chill temperatures get frigid. Babies lose heat more quickly than adults, putting them at a higher risk of frostbite and hypothermia. Avoid playing outside in temperatures or wind chills below -15° Fahrenheit. At these temperatures, exposed skin begins to freeze within minutes. Stay warm everyone!
