Normal retina vs. hemiretinal vein occlusion (HRVO) ๐๏ธ
HRVO happens when a vein draining blood from the retina becomes blocked. This leads to retinal bleeding, swelling, and reduced oxygen, which can cause blurry or distorted vision.
Common risk factors include high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, and glaucoma.
Sudden vision changes should never be ignored โ early evaluation can help protect sight.
