Pulled off a special getaway this past weekend with Allison. Drove down to Daytona Beach on Friday. On Saturday, we visited Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure for a VIP tour during the day and Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights RIP tour at night. I'm getting a little old for all this fun, but I'm glad I got to take her. We had a great time away from all of life's distractions and stress! I'm glad I will be in this life long memory of hers!

I AM REQUESTING ALL HANDS ON DECK. IF YOU’RE TIRED OF THE WAY OUR EASTSIDE KIDS ARE TREATED, THIS SHOULD REALLY GET YOUR ATTENTION! THE EAST LAURENS TENNIS COURT RESURFACING JOB HAS BEEN COMPLETED, AND I WILL LET YOU BE THE JUDGE OF THE OUTCOME. AS THE PICTURES INDICATE THE AESTHETIC IMAGE OF THE COURTS IS THE WORST OF ANY COURTS I HAVE EVER SEEN. THEY PAINTED THE COURTS WITH 4 FOOT METAL PAINTER SHIELDS AND YOU CAN SEE EVERY STROKE ON THE SURFACE. THEY DIDN’T CLEAN THE COURTS SUFFICIENTLY BEFORE THEY BEGAN THE RESURFACING AND OMITTED USING THE BLACK LATEX RESURFACER WHICH WOULD HAVE PROVIDED A BETTER BASE COVERING THE THOUSANDS OF HOLES AND CREVICES OUR COURTS HAD BEFORE THE RESURFACING BEGAN. THE CONTRACT WITH SUNBELT SPORTS STATES THAT THEY WILL CLEAN COURTS TO REMOVE DIRT AND DEBRIS, REMOVE NETS/POSTS. MILL CRACKS AND ‘DIVOTS’ WITH ACRYLIC COURT PATCH BINDER AND APPLY SMOOTHING COATS TO REDUCE COURT SCARRING. THEN APPLY 1 COAT BLACK LATEX RESURFACER AND TWO COATS LATEX COLOR COAT, LAY OUT AND STRIPE COURTS PER NFHS RULES AND REGULATIONS. THEY DIDN’T CLEAN THE COURTS SUFFICIENTLY AND OMITTED THE BLACK LATEX RESURFACER. TO MY KNOWLEDGE TIM PASSMORE AND CLIFFORD GARNTO BOTH HAVE SEEN THE COURTS AND TO QUOTE OUR SUPERINTENDENT AFTER I ASKED HIM ON 9-12 AFTER THE FIRST FOUR COURTS WERE FINISHED, WHAT HE THOUGHT ABOUT THE COURTS “THEY LOOK GREAT. A COUPLE OF THINGS TO TOUCH UP ON.”

The ELHS Tennis Team will be raffling a Bracewell Swing Factory 4 foot glider. The cost of the ticket is $5 and all proceeds will benefit the tennis team. We will be selling the tickets at the home football games. You can also purchase tickets at Michael’s Pharmacy. The drawing will be held on 11/1/24 at Senior Night.
