Despite medical advances, maternal mortality rates in the U.S. remain among the highest of developed nations—and most pregnancy-related deaths are preventable.

Improving outcomes starts with access to timely, high-quality care, and ongoing support before, during, and after pregnancy.

At SOGH, we’re committed to advancing clinical practices, education, and collaboration that save lives and promote safer births for all.

You can help make an impact by supporting our mission—join SOGH or contribute to our efforts to reduce preventable maternal deaths and strengthen hospital-based care.

Together, we can foster awareness, provide compassionate care, and strengthen pathways to safety and healing.

If you or someone you know is in danger, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or visit thehotline.org for confidential help.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about taking proactive steps to protect your health.

Early detection remains one of the most effective ways to save lives, and it starts with regular screenings and open conversations with your provider.

Whether it’s scheduling your mammogram, learning your risk factors, or reminding someone you care about to do the same—small actions can make a lasting impact.

At SOGH, we stand with the patients, providers, and families committed to advancing women’s health through prevention and awareness.

Feeling worried about your baby or unsure? Maybe something isn’t feeling right? You don’t have to wait or wonder.

Follow Dr. Campbell’s tip and visit an OB Triage at a hospital near you.

OB Triage units are dedicated areas in hospitals where pregnant patients can be evaluated right away by an obstetric team. In hospitals with OB/GYN hospitalist programs, a board-certified OB/GYN is available on-site 24/7—ready to assess, reassure, and provide care when you need it most.

Your peace of mind matters. If you’re ever uncertain, it’s always okay and important to get checked.

At this morning's President Panel, and announced the beginning of a strategic partnership to advance hospital-based obstetric care across our country.

As this care becomes more complex and healthcare access becomes more fragmented and strained, both organizations have pledged to act as a team to strengthen systems of care for all birthing people.

We know our patients do better when we all work together--and that will look different for every hospital system. SOGH and SMFM are excited to share more details of this ongoing work with our members in the coming months.
