π SCMR Leadership Academy β Inaugural Cohort Reaches a Key Milestone
We are pleased to share an important milestone for the SCMR Leadership Academy as the inaugural cohort approaches the completion of its two-year journey. β¨
π Launched in 2024 to foster future leaders in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR), the program brings together an internationally diverse and multidisciplinary group of professionals:
β’ Dr. Mahi Ashwath, Cardiology, University of Texas San Antonio, USA
β’ Dr. Marian Pop, Radiology, MureΘ, Romania
β’ Dr. Michael DiLorenzo, Pediatric Cardiology, Columbia University, USA
β’ Dr. Julio Garcia, Scientist, University of Calgary, Canada
β’ Dr. Malenka Bissel, Pediatric Cardiology, University of Leeds, UK
𧩠A key component of the program is the capstone project, addressing a critical global need: the lack of standardized structured reporting in rural and resource-limited settings. To meet this challenge, the cohort developed nine standardized reporting templates for fetal, adult, and pediatric CMR, guided by SCMR reporting guidelines β now available on the SCMR website.
Explore and access the reporting templates hereπ https://scmr.org/scmr-reporting-templates/
π€ This work reflects close collaboration across multiple SCMR committees and the dedicated support of the Leadership Academyβs organizing committee β Dr. Vineeta Ojha, Dr. Purvi Parwani, Dr. Karen Ordovas, and Dr. Subha Raman β as well as the mentors who worked closely with this cohort: Dr. Victor Ferrari, Dr. Sven Plein, Dr. Lars Grosse-Wortmann, and Dr. Chiara Bucciarelli-Ducci.
By creating and sharing these resources, the Leadership Academy aims to reduce variability, improve diagnostic accuracy, and promote equitable access to high-quality CMR reporting worldwide.
π The global CMR community is encouraged to explore and use these new resources to help raise global standards in CMR reporting!
