MSK Radiologists on the ground for the Summer Olympics

ISS member Dr. Bruce Forster is an MSK Radiologist from UBC in Vancouver, and a member of the 12 person IOC Games Group which oversees all medical activities of the Games. Dr. Forster will be in Paris for one month for the Summer Olympics, his fifth Games, and will in part assist the 65 French volunteer radiologists and technologists at the Clinic in imaging the expected 1000 injuries. ‘Radiology plays an absolutely critical role in diagnosing and managing athletic injuries at all levels, ensuring that athletes get the best care and return to their sport as soon as it is safe to do so. Having a Radiologist as part of the Games Group Team at each Olympics is recognition of the important role of our subspecialty’ Forster said.

Dr. Bruce Forster, Samantha Pritchard and Dr. Mike Wilkinson are heading to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, each playing a vital role in the success and well-being of the athletes.
