Who's met Richard? With a harmonica in hand at Edgewood Spearfish and a smile always ready, he turns ordinary hallways into happy little concerts, spreading joy with every note.

Sometimes its a quick serenade during med pass, or simply socializing with teams to get us all humming along to his tune. He’s always ready to lift spirits, playing a part in what makes our community so special.

Music, for Richard, is more than just a hobby. It’s purpose in pocket-size form. It connects, it comforts, and it blows everyone away (literally).

It’s these everyday moments. It’s the people who make this place feel like home. We are Edgewood.

Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the tragic assisted living fire in Massachusetts, especially those whose lives were lost. Events like this are a powerful reminder of the importance of emergency preparedness.

At Edgewood, safety is always a top priority. All of our communities conduct regular emergency drills, maintain up-to-date fire safety systems, and ensure staff are well-trained to respond in any situation.

Vanessa has a culinary degree and took 1st place in a knife competition for her fast skills! She's basically a ninja in the kitchen. But those talented hands have done more than just slice and dice. She used to rock the string bass and even checked touching a dolphin off her bucket list.

“It was the vibe. You could just feel it when you walked in.”

When Janet first stepped into Edgewood Alexandria, MN as a home care provider, she instantly felt warmth. That feeling stuck with her. So much so that she made a career change and joined the team... two years later she's still here, but with her mom too!

One month into her job, Janet knew Edgewood was where her mom, Jean, needed to be. Jean required more help than Janet could give alone, and Edgewood had shown itself to be a safe place full of compassion and Janet knew she'd be well cared for.

“It’s made such a difference in both our lives,” being able to see each other every day brings them joy. Plus, "I’ve had the support of the staff here every step of the way." That guidance through all the transitions has meant the world to me. “My heart is full,” she says. “I love my job.”

Edgewood Healthcare proudly announces that Jill Wilson-Chandler has been promoted to President of Edgewood’s Healthcare Division, effective July 1, 2025. This strategic leadership transition ensures continued excellence across our healthcare brands and reflects our commitment to long-term stability and growth.

Jill’s promotion is part of a planned succession following the announcement that Angie Hilleshiem—founder of All Care and President of CaringEdge and OneSource—will officially retire on January 1, 2026, after nearly 40 years of dedicated service in healthcare. To support a smooth handoff and ongoing innovation, Angie will step into a new role as Executive Vice President of Value-Based Care Strategies at Edgewood beginning July 1, 2025, while continuing to serve on the Board and as an investor.

Food isn’t just fuel, it’s an experience. And no one makes the experience better than our very own Charles at Edgewood Memory Care - Missoula! His story started long before our kitchen. At just 8 years old, Charles was cooking chocolate no-bake cookies alongside his grandma, a recipe he still uses today for our residents!

Before bringing food and joy to tables, he enjoyed a lifetime full of craftsmanship and stories. He went from serving in the Army, to woodworking with his grandpa, to building custom furniture for celebrities like Kiefer Sutherland and Jamie Foxx. He even walked the runway in Chinatown after attending modeling school in Canada. Until, he returned to his first love; cooking. He knows that a warm plate served with a smile can brighten a resident’s day or spark a table-wide laugh.

Because at Edgewood, dining isn’t just about eating. It’s about connection. We are made up of the people who make every bite count. We are Edgewood.
