To all CMW Center Family,

As many of you know, I have been unable to practice massage due to illnesses and injuries. Over the past few months there have been an exceeding number of changes professionally and personally. As a result, I have decided to close the doors of Columba Massage & Wellness Center. While I am sad to close the doors, if there is one thing that I have learned over the past few months, it’s been to find the silver lining in any situation to find purpose in trying times!

While being forced to take a hiatus from the Center, I was determined to come out of this stronger. I have tirelessly been working to improve my health, I have ventured into the world of real estate, reevaluated and adjusted my priorities, spent as much time as possible soaking up moments with my family. I have been able to focus on making the most of what I can control, and what brings me joy. Massage therapy will forever be my passion and I am excited to be able to continue practicing!

My family and I have moved out of the area for a fresh start. I have decided to rent space at a halfway point in East Greenbush at Empathic Massage to make it convenient for clients who would still like to make appointments. I am booking appointments now beginning May 1st. I will eventually be setting up online booking, otherwise feel free to send a text message for appointment requests. The phone number will continue to be the same. If you would like to continue to schedule appointments with Morgan, his email address is llewcynan@gmail.com, or he is still available at Bodhi Spa in Hudson.

I apologize to all who have reached out without response. There has been a level of overwhelm that I needed to alleviate to be able to effectively handle everything on my plate. I am grateful for everyone’s support and gracious offers to help and kind thoughts and wishes!

For anyone who has gift certificates that they would prefer to have refunded, that is no problem at all. Simply email cmwcenter18@gmail.com with Refund in the subject line. Please include your name, purchasers name if applicable, date of purchase, amount remaining, and the Gift Certificate number.

Thank you all for being a part of this journey with me! I appreciate every single person who ever showed Columbia Massage & Wellness Center support over the years. CMW Center has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. Owning my own business gave me a sense of purpose, it was something I always wanted to accomplish. Little did I realize, the fulfilling part was the relationships made and the people who trusted me with their care. For that, I will always be eternally grateful.

Today marks the two year anniversary of Columbia Massage & Wellness Centers opening! The past year was filled with an incredible amount of challenges. There’s no need to delve into the struggles that we experienced to get to where we are today, but as always, there’s a silver lining to all dark clouds.

What I wanted to share was the beauty that came from the hard times. During shutdown, I had clients reaching out constantly, sending encouraging messages and checking in to see how we were doing. Once we were permitted to open, people showed support by scheduling appointments and purchasing gift cards. People in our community did their part to shop locally and sang our praise to their friends and family. Our clients are so much more than just customers of our business. They are our community, our foundation, our friends, and many have become like family.

With grateful hearts, we want to give a huge thank you to everyone for who has helped us fulfill our dreams and vision by letting us perform the services that we absolutely love to provide.

As for our team, I want to acknowledge Taylor for being an incredibly hard working and talented esthetician. She strives for perfection in her work and it shows. Our newest addition is Morgan, an amazingly gifted massage therapist who is as intuitive as he is dedicated. Our family of practitioners is still growing and we will introduce them as they work to establish themselves!

Here’s to many more years of spreading wellness and beauty from the inside out, and growing in the face of adversity and hardship. Thank you all again, from the bottom of our hearts ✨

Today marks our official opening day according to New York State guidelines. We have been preparing our space and ourselves to adhere to the mandatory rules and regulations to keep everyone safe.

As it stands, our amazing esthetician, Taylor Peters will be taking appointments beginning this Friday. As for our massage department, we will be resuming our appointments beginning July 1st. We are so excited to see everyone and we appreciate our clients who have reached out to us and supported us during this wild ride.

Our top priority is to bring wellness to our clients without compromising the new set of safety standards that our present situation requires. Below are our new guidelines for appointments, feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

• Clients will remain one their vehicles until their provider calls them to enter the building for their appointment

•Anyone not wearing a face mask will not be permitted to enter the facility

•We will have hand sanitizer at the entrance for use upon entering and exiting

•We have added a minimum of 15 minutes between appointments to allow for proper sanitation of our facility

•As required by law, we will be wearing face shields as well as face masks

•Each client will be required to fill out and sign a preliminary screening for Covid 19

•We will continue our standard practice to thoroughly sanitize and clean the entire facility every evening and fill out the logs provided by New York State

•The use of linens on our esthetician tables will be suspended to minimize transmission of germs and will be thoroughly sanitized between each client

•All practitioners will be tested every 14 days for Covid 19

•All practitioners will have their temperature checked at the beginning of every day

•Our waiting room is closed, and we are only allowing the client in for their appointment, please do not bring anyone with you

Due to Covid-19, countless numbers of small businesses have been forced to shut their doors, and Columbia Massage & Wellness is no exception.
Having only been in business for a year and a half, there were so many different concerns as to why our business may have to shut down, a global pandemic was not one of them! Our motto has always been to take the good events with humility and take the bad events and learn how to make the most of them. While we have been at home, we wanted to share what has been working for us, which is to be gentle with ourselves, to try focusing on what’s going right instead of wrong, and focusing on the things we can control.
We are grateful beyond measure to our clients and everyone who has supported us in one way or another. We want everyone to know that we are still here for all your wellness and beauty questions and concerns, so please email, call, or text us! We would be happy to help in anyway we can to get through this time as gracefully as possible.

As threats and fears regarding Coronavirus begin to hit closer to home, as the owner of Columbia Massage & Wellness Center and member of our community, I felt it important to communicate the efforts being taken on our behalf to keep ourselves and our clients safe during this alarming time.

At our Center we have always employed higher than average cleanliness protocols. Since fear of the rapidly spreading virus has gotten closer, as a business owner I felt personally responsible to spend every day at the Center cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces and materials to ensure our space is one that is safe and free from harmful contaminants to the best of my ability. Given my health industry background, I feel confident that my standard of cleanliness meets or exceeds industry standards. This includes, but is not limited to, steam cleaning the floors, washing the table linens/blankets/table skirts daily, replacing hand towels with paper products in our rest rooms, using effective cleaning agents to kill virus and bacteria on all surfaces that have, or could potentially have, human contact, and washing our hands before and after every client thoroughly, offering clients the use of hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving our facility, among other sanitation procedures.

As we work hard to ensure our space is safe and inviting for our clients, we ask for your patience with our enhanced cleaning standards, as we will be employing these methods between each and every client. This may delay the start time of a scheduled appointment, but rest assured, no time will be deducted from the expected service time scheduled.

We are also asking our clients to match our vigilance, if any cause for concern may arise with exposure to illness or feeling symptoms of illness, to cancel their service. Clients in these situations will be waived the 24 hour cancellation fee.

We wholeheartedly appreciate our clients and the community we are a part of. Our purpose during this time is to instill a sense of reassurance for our community and to provide a safe place for everyone to find calm amongst the chaos. As a reminder, this too shall pass.
