Get • New research compares multiple acupuncture methods with sodium hyaluronate eye drops for dry eye disease.
In a 2025 network meta analysis of 30 randomized controlled trials, including 2,514 patients, acupuncture outperformed artificial tears overall. Specific techniques, including fascia release acupuncture and electroacupuncture, ranked highest for improving tear production, tear film stability, and overall response rates.
This study has been published in Journal of Pain Research, Vol 19.
