👀Low back pain during pregnancy or postpartum and you’re being told it’s just part of the process?

Here’s something most people are never shown. The way your pelvis tilts can change how your low back, hips, and core are loading all day long. When that system is off, pain can show up fast.

In pelvic floor physical therapy, we look at how your pelvis, core, and breathing work together. We use targeted exercises and hands-on treatment to restore balance, reduce strain, and support your body through pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

Pain is common.
But it is not normal.

You deserve support that actually addresses the root cause, not just reassurance to push through it.

Leaking when you laugh or sneeze. Feeling pressure or heaviness “down there.” Struggling with constipation. Pain with intimacy. Hip, back, or pelvic pain. Growing a baby and wondering why everything suddenly feels uncomfortable. Postpartum and not quite feeling like yourself yet.

This is what we do at RI Pelvic Wellness. 🤍

We help people feel stronger, more supported, and more confident in their bodies through urinary and bowel care, pelvic pain treatment, pregnancy support, and postpartum rehab.

If something feels off, uncomfortable, or just not right, there’s a good chance we can help. 👏🏼

Healing looks different for everyone 🌟

Sometimes it starts from within. Sometimes it starts by walking through our doors🤩. Either way, real healing happens on the inside.

We’re so honored to be part of that journey.

Clearance ≠ full recovery.

Just because your 6-week postpartum visit says “everything looks okay” doesn’t mean you feel okay. If your body still feels unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or weak that makes sense.

Pelvic heaviness. Pain. Leaking. Discomfort with intimacy. Core weakness. None of these mean you’re broken, and none of them mean you have to “just wait it out.”

Being told “everything is okay” does not invalidate what you’re feeling.

Healing doesn’t run on a 6 week timeline. Your symptoms are real, and support exists. Pain, leaking, pressure, or fear of movement are signs you deserve more care, not less. 🤍

If caring a little too much were a crime, we’d gladly do the time. 🤍

We’re so grateful for every patient who trusts us with their care and takes the time to share their experience. Going above and beyond isn’t extra to us. It’s just how we show up, every single day.

Thank you for the kind words, the trust, and the support.

Your form matters! 🧘

Small adjustments in breathing, posture and muscle engagement can be the difference between “doing the exercise” and actually getting results. Not only does correct form improve outcomes, it can prevent injury and setbacks along the way. It’s important to take the time to do it correctly to build a strong foundation for what comes next.

It’s not about pushing harder, it’s about moving smarter. Quality over quantity!

If your birth prep plan doesn’t include your pelvic floor, it’s time for an update 😉

Your OB’s role is to keep you and baby safe during pregnancy and delivery. Pelvic floor prep and recovery? That’s where a pelvic floor physical therapist comes in. Your pelvic floor deserves a spot in your birth plan, not just a mention after delivery.

Learning how to relax, lengthen, and coordinate your pelvic floor before labor can make delivery smoother and recovery easier.

Don’t wait until postpartum to start paying attention to these muscles, start now! 🌸
