When our son Liam was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 7, we made a promise to him that he would be able to continue doing all of the things that he had been doing before his diagnosis, including rock climbing. As a result of remaining active, he continues to be a strong, healthy kid, despite the challenges presented by his medical condition. We founded Rock Type 1 to encourage individ
uals with type 1 diabetes to embrace an active lifestyle. Our mission is to provide opportunities for individuals to experience rock climbing and other activities, as well as providing education regarding the benefits of exercise.
