Today on World Lung Cancer Day, we’re reminded that finding cancer early can save lives. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. — not because it’s untreatable, but because it often shows no symptoms until later stages. That’s why early detection through screenings is so critical.

Jefferson Radiology offers Low-Dose CT lung screenings that help identify lung cancer at its most treatable stage. We are proud to be a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center by the American College of Radiology.

Who qualifies? Adults 50–80 with a 20+ pack-year smoking history who currently smoke or quit within the last 15 years.

Behind the mic for a powerful cause. Yesterday, Jefferson Radiology's very own Dr. Sameer Hanfi (Interventional Radiologist) and Dr. Jean Weigert (Breast Imaging Radiologist & Section Chief) joined iHeartRadio’s Community Access segment as guest speakers.

They shared how annual screenings can change the course of someone’s life by catching cancer early, when treatment can make the biggest difference. We're so proud to have both of them represent JR as we continue our mission to raise awareness about early detection in our community.

Be sure to mark your calendar for August 28 at 7:00pm and join us at Dunkin' Donuts Stadium in Hartford, CT, for Strike Out Cancer Night.
