A huge thank you to the CT & RI Farming Institute for the wonderful opportunity to present yesterday to the grower communities of Connecticut and Rhode Island! 🧑🌾🌱
We spent the time diving into Accessible & Inclusive Farm Design. My mission is to show that accessibility isn't just a "nice to have"—it is essential for a thriving agricultural community.
We discussed how inclusive design supports:
✅ Farm Owners: Helping those with physical limitations or aging bodies stay on their land longer.
✅ Diverse Staff: Creating a space where every team member can be a valuable, productive contributor regardless of their physical or mental health needs.
✅ New Markets: Opening our gates to an often "invisible" community—those who use mobility equipment, the homebound, and individuals with differing sensory needs.
Did you know? 1 out of 4 people live with a disability, yet this community represents over $13 trillion in global purchasing power!
When we make our farms and ranch’s inaccessible, we aren't just missing out on community—we are missing out on a significant market.
Whether you are a fellow landowner, a school, a church, or a business—new or existing—I am here to help you grow.
It is never too late to make your space more inclusive to serve all people. And remember: you don't have to be a commercial farmer or serve the public to benefit from this work.
I can help you create your own personal resting oasis—a respite for your pleasure and your family. We can design a healing, edible space that supports your health, your peace, spirituality or your immediate community.
Let’s design a space with everyone in mind. Reach out today for a consultation!
