We had two amazing posters at the 2025 University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum!

Audrey, Ashlyn, and Alicia's poster was "Reading into Neurodiversity: Autism Terminology in Children's Books"

Duaa, Himani, and Kate's poster was "Impacts of Authors’ Relationships to Autism on Characterization of Peer Interactions in Children’s Books About Autism"

We couldn't be more proud of both groups and their effort in not only putting these posters together but also the research they undertook this semester that was necessary to make this happen. Way to go to both groups and way to represent the Lingo Lab 😁

The Lingo Lab had an amazing time at the 2025 Michigan Speech-Language Hearing Association Conference!

Lab director Dr. Courtney Venker, Speech-Language Pathologist Jennifer Johnson, and Research Coordinator Zachary Hesse gave their talk, "Gestalt Language Development, Evidence-Based Practice, and Neurodiversity".

We also had 2nd-year master's student Margot Stern present her poster, "Autistic Adolescents’ Views on Autism in Children’s Books". Way to go Margot!

MSHA is one of our favorite conferences; we can't wait to attend it again!

Thank you all so much for attending our presentation at last year's ASHA conference! We appreciate everyone's interest in our research, and we thank you all for being such a warm and receptive audience. We had quite a bit of interest in our electronic toy flyers, so we have uploaded them here for your convenience. The links that we had printed on the flyers are below as well. Thank you so much for your time again!
