This month’s employee Spotlight features Ping Wang.

Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Precision Health Program of MSU Radiology in East Lansing. In his own words, he is a scientist and educator, teaching at the university and researching new treatments for diseases such as diabetes. Dr. Wang received his bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine from Shanxi Medical University in 1997, followed by residency training at the First Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. He later pursued doctoral research in Imaging and Nuclear Medicine at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. In 2009, he moved to the United States for postdoctoral research at the Molecular Imaging Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he was later promoted to Instructor. With 16 years of experience in his field and seven years at MSU, Dr. Wang values the opportunity to translate discoveries into real-world applications that improve patient care and to mentor students into future leaders in the field.

Dr. Wang’s interest in imaging research grew out of his clinical work as an interventional radiologist, where he saw the limitations of traditional diagnostic and treatment approaches. Fascinated by the potential of molecular imaging and image-guided therapies, he was drawn to research that could advance precision medicine. He chose MSU for its strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities to contribute to both innovation and student training. Born and raised in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China, he now lives in East Lansing with his five-year-old Australian Shepherd, Winston. In his free time, he enjoys visiting art museums, taking walks with his dog, and hotpot meals at The Royal Pot.

This month’s employee Spotlight features Libby Bradley, PhD.

Dr. Bradley is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Human Anatomy within the Department of Radiology in East Lansing. She holds a BS and an MS from Central Michigan University and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Her love for anatomy began unexpectedly. After retaking an anatomy class to raise her grade, she fell in love with the subject and went on to teach it throughout her graduate studies. Now, she shares her passion by guiding students through the complexities of human anatomy in both lectures and cadaver labs. Dr. Bradley finds joy in making an overwhelming subject more approachable and unforgettable, especially when she sees students experience the awe of holding a real heart or brain for the first time. For her, teaching anatomy is more than a job – it’s her dream career.

After spending some time living in Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Bradley now lives in Okemos, Michigan with her husband, Jakob, and their golden retriever, Zeke. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, working out, traveling, and spending time with family. She’s also a fan of the Detroit Lions, and you might be surprised to learn she can ride a unicycle! Her favorite and most impactful piece of advice from her mentor at CMU has guided her journey: “The time will pass either way, so go do it.”

This month’s employee Spotlight features Xiaoqun (Queenie) D**g.

Dr. D**g is an Assistant Professor in the Precision Health Program of Radiology in East Lansing. Dr. D**g earned her PhD in 2006 and completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2012. With over 15 years of experience, she has worked as both an oncologist and a gastroenterologist before joining MSU. Dr. D**g chose to focus on cancer research because, in her words, “Early diagnosis. Better treatment. Every cancer patient deserves both.” Her commitment to advancing cancer diagnosis and treatment stems from a personal experience—when her mother was diagnosed with cancer, the treatment developed by her team saved her life. Dr. D**g is committed to bringing that same hope to many more patients and families.

Born and raised in Harbin, China, renowned for its International Ice and Snow Festival, Dr. D**g grew up in a city that blends European and Chinese influences with rich history and culture. She has also lived in Houston, Oklahoma City, and Providence, and now resides in Haslett, Michigan. She is married to Dr. Qiushi Lin, a scientist specializing in translational cancer research and autoimmune diseases. In Dr. D**g’s free time, she enjoys hiking, dancing, and singing, and her favorite vacation spots are Las Vegas and Newport. She’s also fond of Shakespeare novels, classical music, and Chinese food, especially Royal Pot in East Lansing. Dr. D**g’s best advice is, “Nothing is impossible to a willing heart. Where there is a will, there is a way.”
