Answer: Movies and television use various recording and transmitting techniques that can make understanding difficult for anyone. Directors often use several microphones to record speech from different people and locations at the same time. Add some background music and you’ve created a challenging listening situation!
Most television sets have relatively small speakers. Speech clarity and loudness varies from channel to channel and from program to program.
The two most effective ways to make television more enjoyable are CLOSED CAPTIONING and WIRELESS AMPLIFICATION.”
Many of today’s hearing aids offer Bluetooth connectivity to transmit sound directly from the TV to your hearing aids. Several studies have shown significant improvement in understanding and enjoyment of television using these methods.
Ask your audiologist to demonstrate this accessory for you!
