It’s laser season! Are you ready for a deep dive on MENDs? 🔎🤓

MENDs, or “microscopic epidermal necrotic debris,” are tiny pieces of dead skin that naturally shed after laser treatments like the MOXI or Halo treatments.

🤔 What causes MENDs?

Laser treatments stimulate cellular turnover. As the fresh skin develops, it pushes old dead cells and pigment to the surface, leaving you with a coffee ground appearance and sandpaper-like texture.

👀 When will they appear?

MENDs typically appear on the second or third day following your treatment. They are a normal and expected part of the healing process and a sign that your skin is repairing itself.

⏰ How long do they last?

The amount of MENDs and the time it takes for them to clear depends on the depth and intensity of your laser treatment. In general, MENDs will naturally slough off within 5-7 days following your treatment. It is important that you do NOT pick, scratch or rub your MENDs! Remember, this is a natural and expected response.

✨ What happens after the MENDS go away?

Once the MENDs slough off, you will be left with glowing skin and a noticeable improvement in tone and texture.
