We’re sharing a little therapist humor today 😆
“A timeline of how clearly my thoughts come through over the course of a day” — because if we’re being honest… our 9am brain and our last-session-of-the-day brain are not always the same.
If you’ve ever felt your brain function slowly fizzle out by the end of the day… you’re definitely not alone.

April 11th marks the beginning of Black Maternal Health Week—a time to raise awareness, amplify voices, and advocate for the safety, dignity, and well-being of Black mothers.
Black maternal health matters because disparities in care are real, and they impact not only physical health, but emotional and mental well-being too. Behind every statistic are real people navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum while often feeling unheard, dismissed, or unsupported.
You deserve care that listens. You deserve care that believes you. You deserve mental health support that understands the cultural, systemic, and personal layers of your experience.
At our practice, we are committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that honors your story and supports your whole self—before, during, and after motherhood.
If you’re looking for a space where you feel seen, safe, and supported, we’re here. 💛
If you’re preparing for bariatric surgery, having the right support can make all the difference—and that includes navigating the letter requirements with confidence.
At our practice, we have clinicians who specialize in providing thorough, compassionate, and timely bariatric surgery letter assessments. They understand the medical, emotional, and psychological components involved in this process and are committed to making it feel as smooth and supportive as possible.
Our clinicians take a trauma-informed, nonjudgmental approach, recognizing that every person’s relationship with their body, health, and food is unique. These evaluations are not about gatekeeping—they’re about understanding your story, supporting your goals, and helping you move forward.
If you’re in need of a bariatric surgery letter or have questions about the process, we’re here to help. Reach out to learn more or to get scheduled with one of our trained clinicians.
To help start your week, let's laugh together this Monday! Therapists are people too, and many of us are guilty of overthinking what we said in a session. We want to do right by our clients, which can have us over think too! We get the struggle not to over think.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month—a time to center survivors, amplify their voices, and recommit to building a world rooted in safety, consent, and dignity.
At COR Counseling, we believe survivors. Always.
We are committed to providing trauma-informed care that prioritizes your safety, honors your autonomy, and sees you as a whole person—not defined by what has happened to you.
Supporting survivors also means staying informed, advocating for change, and uplifting the resources that exist to protect and empower. There is important work being done every day to fight for survivors’ rights, expand access to care, and challenge the systems that silence or harm.
You deserve to be heard. You deserve to be supported. You deserve to heal—on your terms, in your time.
If you or someone you know is in need of support, you are not alone. 💙

At COR Counseling, we offer Bariatric & Weight Loss Support that centers you—not shame, stigma, or unrealistic expectations. 💛
Whether you are considering surgery or have already undergone a bariatric procedure, this journey can bring up a wide range of emotions: uncertainty, hope, grief, pressure from others, and the challenge of navigating changes in how you relate to food and your body. You are not alone in this.
Our approach is rooted in an anti-oppressive, weight-inclusive lens. This means we move away from the idea that your worth, health, or success is defined by a number on a scale. Instead, we focus on:
✨ Supporting your relationship with food, body, and self
✨ Exploring the emotional and psychological impacts of bariatric surgery
✨ Honoring grief and loss that can come with changes in coping strategies
✨ Navigating external judgment and internalized beliefs about weight
✨ Building sustainable, compassionate ways of caring for yourself
We recognize that weight loss journeys are deeply personal—and often shaped by systems like weight stigma, diet culture, and medical bias. You deserve support that is affirming, non-judgmental, and grounded in respect for your lived experience.
April is Autism Acceptance Month—and at COR Counseling, we are committed to going beyond awareness toward true acceptance, inclusion, and action.
Autistic individuals do not exist in a vacuum. Their experiences are shaped by overlapping systems—ableism, capitalism, racism, and other power structures—that often prioritize productivity, compliance, and “normalcy” over well-being and authenticity. These pressures can contribute to chronic stress, masking, and burnout, particularly for those navigating multiple marginalized identities.
Being neurodiversity-affirming means challenging these systems—not asking autistic individuals to conform to them.
It means:
✨ Valuing different ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world
✨ Respecting autonomy, sensory needs, and boundaries
✨ Recognizing burnout as a systemic issue—not a personal failure
✨ Creating spaces that prioritize accessibility over expectation
We are also committed to centering autistic voices—listening to lived experiences, amplifying advocacy, and remaining open to growth. As our understanding evolves, so must we. When past knowledge no longer aligns with current, community-informed recommendations, we choose to learn, unlearn, and do better.
Acceptance is not passive—it is active, ongoing, and rooted in justice.
This month and beyond, we stand in support of autistic individuals—not just to be included, but to be understood, respected, and fully embraced.

At COR Counseling, we are proud to spotlight our gender-affirming therapists who are dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey toward authentic living. 💛
Our clinicians provide comprehensive evaluations and write letters of surgical support for gender-affirming care in alignment with WPATH standards. We understand that this process can feel both empowering and vulnerable, and we are committed to making it a respectful, collaborative, and affirming experience.
Our approach centers your voice, your identity, and your goals. We strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported—while ensuring documentation meets the necessary clinical and ethical guidelines for care.
You deserve access to affirming, competent support at every step of your journey. If you’re seeking a provider for a surgical support letter or ongoing care, we’re here to help.
Transgender Day of Visibility is about honoring the strength, resilience, joy, and humanity of transgender and nonbinary people. It’s a day to celebrate lives that have always existed—and to acknowledge the courage it takes to live authentically in a world that doesn’t always make that easy.
Visibility matters because representation saves lives. When transgender youth see adults thriving, when families see stories of love and affirmation, when communities learn rather than assume—it reduces isolation. It builds hope. It reminds people they are not alone.
Right now, compassionate understanding matters more than ever. Transgender individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidality—not because of who they are, but because of stigma, discrimination, and lack of safety. Affirming environments, supportive relationships, and access to competent care make a measurable difference in mental health outcomes.
At COR Counseling, we are committed to providing affirming, trauma-informed care and to supporting transgender clients and their families with compassion and clinical integrity. Every person deserves to feel safe in their body, in their relationships, and in their community.
