Memories & Records

Memories & Records Time is precious. I am a personal home business. At this time requests for service will be completed on a first booking, first serve order.

Here, I offer my time to:
*Research your genealogy questions
*Digitize, Organize and properly Store your family history collections.
*Conduct professional family history interviews and save them for your posterity. Large volume collections can and will take more time than others. You may waitlist for availability if bookings are full. No guarantees on final quality as documents, photos, and other

aging materials degrade over time, and how they have been stored may also lend to poor quality. Every effort will be made to preserve the highest quality when possible. All personal and private information is kept that way, personal and private. It will not be sold, uploaded, or downloaded for any purpose other than to complete your service.***

***Please leave items with anything with content that includes vulgarity, pornographic, gruesome, horrific, nudity or anything offensive out of your collection before processing. I reserve the right to report and release your information and any material containing illegal or suspected illegal activity for evidence to the proper authorities

Rates may vary based on type of services and load. While I will always work with you on changes to estimated schedule, pricing and unforeseen events, please note that due to circumstances beyond my control such as a natural disaster, while processing your one-of-a-kind collection may result in an irreplaceable loss of those items. However, whenever the circumstance is within my control, your personal items and memorabilia will be handled as if they were my own private collection.

Genealogy Tip: When searching for an ancestor who shares your surname. Instead of complaining that the name was spelled wrong, consider that spelling standardization is a fairly modern concept.

So, when searching, think of all the ways others hear your name and misspell it. Try searching for those in the same place. You will be surprised by what you find.

See some examples from my family tree below. What should make common sense is influenced by accents, alternate language speakers, and how our brain goes to what it already knows vs what is being presented.

For example, Some surnames in my family tree are Wise, McMillin, Miller, and Bunton.

Wise: Weiss, Weis, Wyze, Wys, White, Wiz
McMillin: Mac Millin, McMillan, McMillion, McMillen, McMellen
Miller: Mellor, Miler, Muller, Mueller
Bunton: Button, Burton, Bunting, Bunson, Bundin, Buntin

What are some surnames you have had trouble with?

This week, I have been challenged to have conversations with at least five potential clients to gain ideas and learn what it would take for you to use my paid services as either a researcher or digitizing and organizing your personal genealogy archives.

If you have some feedback and our ideas 💡 I'm ready to discuss them.

At Christmastime, my mother came to visit. She brought things from her storage, including photos, short biographies of some of my family members, and an old Hi 8 video camera! I nearly cried because these beautiful histories not only came into my possession, but the camera gave me one more conversion tool.
