A new study states that paper mills rank among the nation’s worst polluters, so why are we still using paper towels?

A recent article from Portland Press Herald shared that some of the key issues in paper production at these paper mills are that they have high emissions comparable to oil refineries, underreported greenhouse gas emissions, the use of hazardous fuels, and aging infrastructure. In comparison, our line of hand dryers help lower a building’s carbon footprint by up to 94% and are extremely energy efficient. Learn more in the article below ⬇️

As other mills move away from burning tires as fuel, Maine plants have increased the practice, according to the Environmental Integrity Project, which also says emissions are being underreported. The plants dispute that.

Our Global Head of Specifications & Sustainability Paul Marquez is helping to shape policy and talking hygiene in Capitol Hill at the recent ISSA - The Association for Cleaning and Facility Solutions Clean Advocacy Summit!

This event gave him the opportunity to talk with the staffs of various Massachusetts senators and representatives including Elizabeth Warren, Richard Neal, and more. He was able to discuss how having hand dryers in government buildings helps reduce our carbon footprint and provides a safe hand drying solution. We are grateful to ISSA for this great opportunity!
