This simple play invitation helps kids strengthen fine motor skills, build hand-eye coordination, explore textures and colors, and learn through hands-on play. Most importantly — they were creating, experimenting and enjoying the process together, in their own way.💛

🌎Earth Day at Muddy Buddies!💚

Wednesday was chilly and breezy, but that didn’t stop our amazing community from coming together to celebrate our Earth. Seeing so many smiling faces, bundled up and ready to explore, made the day feel incredibly special. 💫

The morning was filled with hands-on, open-ended play and meaningful nature connections. Ranger Jim joined us with a beautiful collection of nature treasures and even shared the sounds of frogs singing—such a memorable experience for the children. 🌿

One of the sweetest moments was my nephew sharing his northern water snake. Even though the cold limited the visit, it was still such a special experience. 🐍

The joy of the day was in all the little moments—digging for worms, creating pinecone birdfeeders, painting and planting, mud play, building habitats, exploring a cozy “bird nest” with singing stuffed birds, and discovering life cycles of frogs, butterflies, and more. And of course, our mud kitchen was a favorite!

I’m so grateful to everyone who came out, all the helping hands who made this possible, and to Squire Farm for sharing their beautiful space with us. 💚

Events like this take a lot of work, but the joy, connection, and love for nature make it more than worth it. So thankful for this community. 🌎✨

🌿🙌 A HUGE THANK YOU TO ARBORTECH!

We’re so grateful for ArborTech and their generous support of our outdoor program! Their team spent an afternoon removing dead trees and branches from the wooded area where Discovery Woods is taking shape, helping improve safety for kids and families. 🌳

They even removed stumps from our usual Muddy Buddies play area, making the space more open and easier for everyone to navigate.

Their support has helped us move forward in a big way as we work toward opening Discovery Woods, and we’re deeply appreciative of their time, expertise, and commitment to our community. We can’t wait for what’s ahead! ✨

Spring play is here at Muddy Buddies! 🌷 🌸Loved seeing old friends, meeting new families, and hearing how much kids missed us. Sun, smiles, fun, and learning—only a few photos because we were too busy enjoying it all ☀️ It feels so good to be back!🌲

Jumping in puddles, climbing trees, and catching bugs, are one of the many hallmarks of a childhood enjoyed outdoors. 🐞🌷🌳🤸

Through Governor Healey’s Inter-Agency Early Education and Child Care Task Force, the Massachusetts Office of Outdoor Recreation (MOOR) and the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) are excited to introduce "Outdoor Start," a resource hub designed to help families and early education programs spend more time in nature.

Research shows that outdoor time benefits young children by promoting physical and mental health, social skills, personal growth, and environmental awareness.

The resource hub offers information for policymakers, families, and early education providers on the benefits of nature for young children and ways to engage with the outdoors in positive and developmentally appropriate ways.

🌸 Wow! We are so grateful (and a little overwhelmed!) by the response to our spring Stay & Play sessions — classes filled in just 30 minutes! 💛

Thank you for your patience during registration. I’ve gone through messages, organized the waitlist, and done my best to make adjustments where I can. The waitlist is full, but we’ll reach out if a spot opens.
