So often, schools must conduct assemblies in large rooms that are not properly equipped to handle the noise volume. We helped this school by installing 2” thick fabric-wrapped acoustical panels to the upper wall spaces. We selected face fabrics that closely match the wall colors so as not to distract from the artwork and school logo. The result is an environment that is far more comfortable during large gatherings!

What to use when traditional roller shades or blinds just don’t make sense?
This school needed coverage of this interior window wall for lockdown situations. We installed traditional roller shades on the upper level of glass. For the lower level, we used shade fabrics hanging on a fixed metal spline and attached them to the cross mullion behind the wood railing. This way, we get a consistent look without any extra wands or chains!

Large gatherings in this space resulted in an unmanageable amount of echo! The solution was to add sound absorbing acoustical panels to the walls or ceiling. This lobby had hardly any available wall space, so to the ceiling we went! We installed various-sized circle clouds to continue with the circle theme of their other fixtures. They did the trick!

Softening these windows with upholstered cornices and roller shades made a huge impact! Underneath the custom fabric cornices are dual roller shades, allowing for light filtering fabric to soften the bright sunlight during the day and room darkening fabric to provide privacy in the evening. Let us help design, fabricate and install drapery or roller shades for your next project!
In both of these projects, the customers had large mirrors they would like covered when they are not needed. In one case, we installed a custom curtain. The red fabric coordinated so nicely with the new paint! And for the other project, we used coupled roller shades with an opaque fabric. Coupling roller shades allows for the control to be at only one side but will operate the multiple shades in tandem. This makes for a much cleaner look and reduces the gap between the shades.
These solutions also work for a wall of whiteboards, or of course, windows!

This large classroom with a high, sloped ceiling had big problems with sound reverberation. Armstrong Feltworks 1” acoustical panels were added to the ceiling and Snap-Tex acoustical stretched fabric mounting system was applied to the top portion of the wall. Both products allow for sound to be absorbed and provide a much more comfortable class environment.

We often get asked how to treat these push bar doors, especially in a school. This is a great option! Here we did Mecho UrbanShade clutch shades at the top glass with fixed shades hanging from a metal channel at the bottom. Low profile, but still adding versatile privacy and security. 20 classroom doors later and the elementary school is thrilled!
