Flagship Dental

Flagship Dental Flagship Dental, the practice of Dr. Kelliher and Dr. Foerster, provides high-quality dental care. It’s like starting all over again at a new practice.

Isn’t it annoying when you find a brand-new team at your dental office every time you go? At Flagship Dental Group, you won’t encounter one or more new faces every time you come. Since 1973, our team has made only a handful of changes in staff, which means you can truly call our practice home. Like many others on our team, Dr. Michael Kelliher has been with us for more than 25 years. Also at the h

elm, Dr. Lainie Foerster brings the same passion and expertise to every appointment. In addition, our team doesn’t judge if you have issues that need to be resolved. Using the latest technology, we can get your smile back on track in a comfortable, judgment-free, and pain-free environment. Even scheduling and paying are convenient here with our evening appointments and affordable financial options! If you’re ready to have a better time in the dentist chair, it’s time to reach out to Flagship Dental Group in Longmeadow and come to your one and only dental home.

Happy National Brush Day!

Every November 1st, we take some time to remind everyone of the importance of regular brushing, which is the foundation of dental hygiene no matter how old you are.

Brushing your teeth twice a day is one of the best ways to keep your smile cavity-free and looking its best. Set a two-minute timer, pick up that toothbrush, and make it a lifelong habit!

For most of us, brushing our teeth is just one of our many daily habits, and we often don’t even think about it while we’re doing it. However, you might not be brushing for long enough if you’re on autopilot and just going through the motions!

Be sure that you’re spending 2 to 3 minutes brushing each time. Additionally, be sure you’re spending an adequate amount of time brushing each section of your mouth – don’t forget your tongue!

If you stay true to this important habit, you’ll end up spending around 40 or so collective days over the course of your lifetime brushing, meaning you can enjoy great dental health for many years to come!

With Halloween right around the corner, there’s no doubt that you’ll be seeing a lot more sweets and treats at stores, at school, in the office, or even at home. But beware; as tempting as it might be to indulge frequently, do yourself (and your teeth) a favor by enjoying them in moderation, and of course, maintaining your dental health!

If you aren’t able to brush immediately after having something sweet, consider drinking a glass of water or chewing sugar-free gum; both of these habits can increase your mouth’s saliva flow, which in turn will boost your protection against cavities!

When it comes to protecting your teeth from dangerous bacteria and keeping your smile clean and fresh every day, the toothbrush is truly one of your mightiest weapons.

The average toothbrush contains around 2,500 bristles grouped into 40 or so tufts. These tufts are typically folded over and fused into their pre-cored holes within the head by using just a little heat—kind of like a sword forged in fire.

And with that, you can use this neat tool to scrub your pearly whites so that you can show off an amazing smile in the long run – just remember to swap to a new one roughly every 3 months, or sooner if you’ve been sick!

Have you ever gotten a bruise or received a cut on your finger by accident, only to notice that it had fully recovered after just a few days? The human body is incredibly resilient and is even able to regenerate tissue and heal itself in a relatively quick manner. But did you know that tooth enamel is technically the ONLY part of your body that can’t heal itself?

That’s why you want to take extra care to protect your smile by wearing a mouthguard during sports, as well as practicing preventive dental hygiene to keep your teeth safe. Even though your teeth can’t heal themselves, you can use your head to protect them and prevent many types of issues!
