Dear Families,
At Pediatric Services of Springfield, we value the trust and relationships we have built with our families and remain committed to providing safe, thoughtful, and evidence-based care for every child. We have recently instituted new office policies around vaccinations. To help alleviate some confusion, the two new policies are briefly summarized here.
For our existing patients and families: We want to acknowledge and respect the decisions you have made regarding your child’s care. If your child is currently following an alternative vaccination schedule or is not fully vaccinated, we will continue to honor your decision and maintain your care within our practice, provided that appropriate documentation (including vaccine refusal or delay forms) is on file.
To support the safety of all patients—especially infants and those who are medically vulnerable—certain office protocols may be required for children who are not fully vaccinated. These may include modified scheduling, arrival procedures, and infection control measures.
Updated Policy for New Patients: Beginning March 16, 2026, all new patients joining Pediatric Services of Springfield will be required to follow the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), unless a medical exemption is determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.
This policy is designed to ensure the safest possible environment for all children and families in our care.
We remain committed to open and respectful communication. If you have any questions about vaccines or how this policy applies to your family, please do not hesitate to speak with your provider. The full policies are visible on our website.
Thank you for the trust you place in us.
Sincerely, Providers at Pediatric Services of Springfield
