💔We had a scheduled Vet appointment today, and unfortunately our worst fears have come true..... Cicada does indeed have septic arthritis, and our only hope of her turning around is two courses of stronge meds for the next three days... Unfortunately this is a cruel joke nature likes to play on these genetically motified animals; Jumbo Pekins were bread to grow heavy with meat and pump out egg after egg like an assembly line, dying tragically young because of numerous health issues attributed to them... Naturally Ducks should live upto 10-20yrs depending on the breed, we knew she would not stretch it out that long but 5 yrs seems way too short, thus- a cruel joke...
There will be updates eventually, right now we are all surrounding Cicada with love and comfort foods (along with her meds).. If these meds don't take, then we may have to uthenize Kay from the slow suffering she is enduring on a daily basis now.. So please EVERYONE keep Kay in your thoughts, prayers, and hearts, and please send her your good vibes and possitive energies..! Anything helps and God knows I would trade places with her in a heart beat, and if i knew a way I wouldn't hesitate for a second.. Evie needs her, and sadly I think I may need her more..
