Holiday diffuser recipe #3! Gingerbread cookies!

Cinnamon and clove can both help with pathogens in the air, using clove in the bathroom as a cleaning product can keep mold from forming!

Diffusing ginger after your dinner can help promote digestion!

3 parts ginger root essential oil
2 parts cinnamon essential oil
2 parts clove essential oil

Once again you can make a stock bottle to have around the house or use as drops in a 100 ML diffuser. Again diffuse in spurts, diffusing for no more than one hour at a time. If you’re using a waterless diffuser, diffuse for no more than 15 minutes per hour.
Always give animals a way to leave the room if the scent doesn’t agree with them.

I hope you all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Holiday diffuser recipe #2

Did you know it’s rumored that grave robbers used cinnamon to protect themselves against the bubonic plague?

Cinnamon is a powerful disinfectant! Whether you use the bark or the leaf you’ll get that same incredible power with just a slight difference in the scent.

Another holiday blend that will support immunity, disinfect and deodorize!

The aroma of the essential oils of cinnamon and clove give this a perfect setting for your Thanksgiving table!

Holiday diffuser recipe #2:

One part cinnamon essential oil (bark or leaf)
One part clove essential oil
One part sweet orange essential oil (or tangerine or blood orange or mandarin)
One part rosemary essential oil
One part eucalyptus essential oil

Again, for a 100 ML diffuser you could use one drop of each. If you have a larger diffuser double or triple for every 100 ML‘s additional. So for a 300 ML diffuser or larger you’re probably best off maxing out at 15 drops.
As I’ve mentioned before, it’s also nice to make this in larger amounts in a stock bottle so that you have it on hand for cold and flu season.

Use the diffuser intermittently, after one hour your nose will get immune to the scent. And if you’re using a nebulizer or waterless diffuser, diffuse for no more than 15 minutes every hour as the oils are much denser with these units.

Some people with respiratory illnesses that are chronic like emphysema or asthma may be sensitive to both cinnamon and clove. I suggest opening the bottle of essential oil and letting them take a quick smell a few inches away from their nose to see if it irritates them, if it does this is not a good blend to use.

As always with animals, make sure they can leave the room if the oils don’t agree with them.

Let your holiday diffusing do double duty! Many essential oils not only deodorize a room, many are known to disinfect the air as well, so with the holidays coming up and family gathering around, create a blend in your diffuser that will multitask!

Holiday diffuser blend number 1:

Pine essential oil: 3 parts
Sweet orange essential oil: 2 parts
You can make a stock blend to have around for cold and flu season or you can measure as drops in a 100 ml diffuser. That won't cover a big room, more like a bedroom, so if you have a larger diffuser, double or triple the drops per each additional 100 ml capacity.

You can substitute Douglas Fir for the pine and bitter orange or tangerine for the sweet orange.

Pine and sweet orange are kid safe as young as 2. Not all animals like essential oils so make sure your animal can leave the room if it doesn't agree with them.

With a traditional diffuser, diffuse in spurts, some people do 20 minutes on, 40 off. I do an hour on, 2 hours off. More than an hour, your nose gets immune to the scent.
If you are using a nebulizer or a waterless diffuser, no more than 15 minutes per hour as the concentration is much denser.

Pine is well known for it's respiratory and immunity benefits. Orange is also known for it's immunity support and can boost and uplift the mood as well...perfect for the holidays! Enjoy!

Why telling your teenage to keep washing their face to help their acne is just making it worse! In fact regular use of soap (including washing your hands constantly) may actually make you sick!

The skin is covered with a coating called an "acid mantle", that coating helps protect the skin, which is the first line of defense for you body against bacteria, viruses, pollution and dehydration.

So now it's a bad news/good news/bad news/good news saga:

The bad news is that traditional soap which has a very high pH (anywhere from 9-11) which is WAY higher than our acid mantle (which is about 4-4.5), strips away our protective acid mantle when we wash.

The good news is that your body will regenerate that acid mantle in about 4 hours.

The bad news is that continued use of soap will, after a while, trash your acid mantle and it won't regenerate. Leaving it open to all the viruses, bacteria, pollution and dehydration. Think about all the handwashing we have been told to do during COVID!

The good news is there are "syndet" bars that have a lower pH and will not destroy the acid mantle.

The bad news is they can range from 5.5-8 in their pH AND they are synthesized chemicals.

The good news is, it is possible to formulate a shower bar with a low pH (about 5-6), that will NOT destroy the acid mantle AND is derived from natural ingredients that are Ecocert approved to be listed as natural ingredients and Banchi Botanica will be offering them!

The bad news is they are not ready yet...but stay tuned! So far a Cafe Mocha bar has been created, with the antioxidant powers of coffee oil, coco butter and raw cacao powder! The lather is rich and it is so gentle you can use it as shampoo as well and you won't come out of the shower with hair that feels like straw or skin that is dry and tight. There is also a lemon bar and I am working on a blueberry bar with the power of blueberry oil and the blue spirulina powder.

Okay, that's more good news/bad news than I said I was listing, but the last one will make it worth it.

The good news is I would like opinions and testers from my neighbors for this new shower bar line. You MUST be an East Moriches resident and willing to answer a before and after survey as well as test out one of the shower bars (at no cost to you). I am looking for those with mature skin (over 50), teens with acne, eczema and psoriasis sufferers as well as normal skin types. This test will start in September. Please PM me if you are interested as the testing pool will be limited.
