Been craving ceremony in your life but don’t even know where to begin?

Over the years, I’ve found the changing of the seasons to be a perfect time to realign and tune back into my deeper connection and knowing.
🌿
Each of our ancestors have honored and celebrated the seasonal shifts.
It’s in our blood to take an intentional moment with this time.

And it helps us remember how to hold ceremony. It can be as simple or complex as you want. Ceremony can be what you need it to be.

As far as this time of year, Spring Equinox or Ostara is here!

To celebrate this glorious day brings me back in rhythm with the rest of nature and reminds me that the sun is returning!

Life is springing back up
Rebirth
Planting seeds and hopes of fertility and abundance.

Our neighbors in nature are waking up, coming back out and the chatter and buzzing begins.

My favorite ceremony is a simple one that can be enjoyed alone or with family and friends.

We make a picnic for all of us. And by all of us I mean our wild neighbors as well.

We have treats for us and seeds and fruits for them too.

We enjoy our treats and thank the sun for the day. Usually lie flat and open our arms for a big warm sun hug.

Then, we set out our little friend’s treats with care.

We have such a good time imagining them finding them and being so excited!

The intention.. we are all family. We are all connected. Abundance when we share.

So you see, no need to be intimidated when you think of bringing ceremony back into your life. There are many forms… do what works for you!

Herbs are very specific to individuals and symptom pictures.
For best results:
Pair with lifestyle changes.
Herbs aren’t drugs; they are a part of a larger healing.
Remember that more isn’t more. We’ve been conditioned to take take take but really we just need to be more discerning about what we truly need and what matches that.
Equal to adding in beneficial things is removing things that hinder us.
There is no shame in modern meds, traditional meds,- anything. You do you and what works for you!

FOUNDATIONS herbal tea is our newest to the collection and it couldn’t have come at a more needed time.

When deep, restorative, foundational care is needed, herbs (especially these herbs) are here for you.

This is the epitome of functional care in tea form.

To create this blend, I considered which systems are experiencing much strain in times such as these and brought in the bedrock herb for each.

Eleuthero root, the original adaptogen, brings foundatjonal care for the nervous system and adrenals.

Astragalus, the all star immunomodulatory herb ready to bring balance to all forms of immunity needs.

Stinging Nettle, like an easy to absorb multivitamin to be savored.

Gotu Kola offering nootropic benefit to bring focus on a brain cloudy day through its cerebral circulatory capabilities.

Hawthorn leaf and berry for cardiovascular health and to care for the physical and emotional heart.

Assimilation matters so I then brought in stimulant (increase absorption and assimilation/ not alertant) herbs Ginger root, Cinnamon, and Peppermint to better enhance absorption.

Good tea blending isn’t about just creating good flavor, it’s about making every single ingredient count.

Lastly, Lemongrass insisted upon joining and it makes complete sense so as that the blend is energetically balanced. This very foundational blend needed just a touch of lift that lemongrass so beautifully brings.

I suggest drinking one bag or 2 Tb per day (can steep multiple times) for at least 2 weeks to strengthen and restore these key organs and systems our health so desperately relies upon. I personally plan on drinking this blend for months to come.

Resteeping or looooong infusing herbal tea is essential to getting the actions you are actually seeking.

My rule of thumb is never less than an hour and you’ll see why in the video.

That’s why we have big bags! Microplastic, hand packaged, sealed with a stainless steel staple (like a tea ball) and ready to just hang out in your mug for hours.
Some infuser mugs allow for long infusions of loose leaf as well.
French presses are slow a great way to let those herbs steep for hours while sipping away.

Ok… so I can’t sing. But Joel can! Here’s a reminder from last year about when it’s ok to start spring cleaning your yard in reference to our neighbors in nature.

You were intentional with your Fall cleanup and allowed the plants to stand as safe haven and shelter for essential pollinators and food for the birds but now what?
Now- we wait.

I know it’s hard!

50 degrees consistently is a good rule of thumb. Some also say 6 weeks after the last frost.

What can we do?
In this time I clean any invasives or ornamentals I no longer want in my native yard.
I plan my garden, add compost, do final house cleaning that I won’t want to do when the weather gets beautiful, build new beds, you get it.

Our pollinators are declining rapidly and our birds are struggling. They need a safe space to call home, can’t that be your yard? Be a safe haven of hope

Let’s have more time together unpolished, unplanned, but fully intentional. The moment is enough.

I absolutely love having friends over for tea for this.
The simplicity of tea encourages us to appreciate life’s essentials and find joy in the ordinary.

Each sip invites us to be mindful of “the here- the now”.
This practice of mindfulness helps us stay grounded in the present and appreciate life’s smaller moments. It’s these moments that make up life.

As Annie Dillard said, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives. What we do with this hour, and that one, is what we are doing. A schedule defends from chaos and whim. It is a net for catching days…”
Let’s break free from that net a little bit. With our friends.

Sharing a good, deeply nourishing cup of tea with a friend brings an unexplainable sense of wellness.
It’s food, water, medicine, belonging, all wrapped in a moment together.

It’s back- for now. LEAH’S COLD KICKER herbal tea. {limited release}

A family recipe I’ve been making for years and have recently been able to offer limited releases each year thanks to amazing local growers growing some of these harder to get herbs for us!
