There’s a case of measles near Plymouth meeting in Montgomery County. Here is our guidance, pending more specific guidance from the Montgomery County health department.

If you think your child has measles, please come to your appointment in a car and call us when you arrive. We will come out to see your child in the car. Please do not come into the office.

If your child is six months to one year and you would like an early MMR, please book a medical assistant appointment for this on our website using the Schedule Online button, if you are an established patient. If you are a new patient, please book a sick appointment. This early vaccine will not count as the one year old vaccine.

If your child is one year to four years old and you would like an early second MMR-Vvaccine against measles, please book a Medical Assistant appointment for this (or a sick appointment if you are a new patient). This WILL count as the 4 year old vaccine.

One vaccine makes about 93% of people completely immune. Two vaccines makes about 97% of people completely immune.

If your child had a 4 year old well visit, they should have had a measles (MMR-V) vaccine at the visit.

You CAN see your child’s immunization record on the portal.

If your child is not vaccinated for measles, and you are choosing to keep your child unvaccinated, we are waiting for guidance from the health department but you may want to keep your child at home until contact tracing is complete.
