The Suffolk County Police Memorial Fund was created in memory of Police Officer George A. Frees, who died in the line of duty in 1971. What began as a small community effort has grown into a lasting source of support for the families of Suffolk County Police Officers who make the ultimate sacrifice.

The Fund provides educational grants to the children and surviving spouses of fallen officers, as well as scholarships for active-duty law enforcement families. Its mission also includes family support, honoring those lost, and exploring ways to prevent future tragedies.

Paws of War serves those who served by rescuing animals in need and connecting them with veterans and first responders who benefit from their companionship.

The programs provide service dog training, emergency veterinary care, overseas rescues, housing assistance, and more. Each effort supports the bond between people and animals while creating a path toward healing.
