According to the book Intuitive Eating by nurse- dieticians Elyse Resch and Evelyn Tribole, research has shown that dieting is SO harmful to our health that if it were to undergo the same rigorous process that medications go through for approval, it would NOT be recommended.
In addition, a UCLA study review of 31 long term studies reveal that dieting is a consistent indicator of weight GAIN. And yet doctors, dieticians and nutritionists continue to prescribe dieting for weight loss.
Like many women, I have spent most of my life worried about my weight. But even worse, the experience of eating has been cloaked in shame and guilt. I was 40 years old when I first learned about Intuitive Eating and have since had to attempt to unlearn decades of thought, habits and behaviors that have been harming me and preventing me from achieving physical and emotional wellness. So I was really excited to do this interview and I'm even more excited to share it with you!
My hope is that no matter what age or body size you are, that you can create a healthy relationship with food and learn to love your beautiful body and enjoy your one precious life! The link to INTUITIVE & MINDFUL EATING with DR LYNN STIFF is in the comments!
