Health is a manifestation of balance, expressed in both our internal environment as well as the external environment in which we live. When there is balance, harmony exists and provides a smooth flow of energy "qi" ("chee") which serves to nurture and nourish all organs and tissues, but in this world of extremes this balance is sometimes disrupted. It is our job to coerce the body towards this balance, and this is done by stimulating our own natural ability to heal. An excellent explanation of how acupuncture works in terms of a Western understanding.

Eastern medicine is a gentle, noninvasive, approach to moving stagnation that can be caused by physical and or emotional trauma. It works by tapping into the energetic vortex of individual highway systems that percuss qi (energy) into the affected meridian. Acupuncture treats the individual and is tailored to fit the chief complaints and what I see and feel out of balance between observation and touch. I use a very specific pulse system referred to as the Shen-Hammer pulse to pick up on subtle sensations, wave patterns and depths to help identify the imbalances. Acupuncture is an ancient and effective medicine that has been used to treat and heal people for thousands of years.

Hi everyone! In the wake of the recent tragedies in NC and TN, im collecting donations to send this coming Friday, a beautiful friend of mine will be heading out to NC to deliver the aide.

They are also in need of hand can openers, bleach, dish soap, detergent, zip lock bags, hand sanitizer, towels, baby powder, antibacterial ointments and so much more. The donations can be dropped off at my little practice in East Palatka, 280 south US highway 17, im not far from the Putnam County fairgrounds. **update** thank you community of friends! We were able to send Jackie a heap of supplies for our neighbors north of us. Thank you everyone who took the time to donate clothing, blankets, goods, etc... It was super touching to see so many bags of blankets and supplies being piled up on my practice steps just about every afternoon. A super special thank you to Jackie and her beautiful daughter for planning the trip up to NC, many prayers for safety, comfort coupled with a ton of love from our community here in Putnam County. Autumn is coming!

The Fall is the season of dryness, contraction and moving inward, and it corresponds to the lungs and large intestine. During this season, our lungs are more susceptible to respiratory issues and therefore need additional support to weather this seasonal change.

The large intestine is associated with “letting go” and, just as trees shed their leaves, we may find ourselves needing to let go of what no longer serves us. In terms of emotions, the lung is associated with sadness and grief and, as the season shifts, we might find these emotions creeping up on us. We can support ourselves and loved ones by nurturing one another emotionally and filling our bellies with healthy food choices by sticking to seasonal choices such as pumpkin, squashes, sweet potatoes, beets and seasonings such as cardamom, cinnamon, molasses, garlic, onions, beans such as lentils ... particularly white beans, warming meats and stews.

Indigenous cultures all over the America's prepare different versions of "fry bread" and in regions in the Southern Hemisphere they have their own spin on this Amerindian cultural staple.

At 41, I sought out IVF, my amh was rather low, and i had been convinced by the center that my only chances of conceiving (due to my age) were through modern science. Feeling desperate and seeing that my options were limited and (in terms of reproductive years) I was running out of time, i wholeheartedly jumped in. After 2 unsuccessful, heartbreaking rounds of ivf, my RE (reproductive endocrinologist) said my chances were slim; there was a 1% chance of a live, full term birth. She warned of many miscarriages and or issues with the child. She suggested another round but wanted me to think this over; I thanked her but declined any more treatments. I drove home feeling empty, the silence was a blaring reminder of this vast hollowness that i felt. It was, to date, one of the most jagged pills I had ever swallowed, after 20+ years of hoping for a child I had a 1% chance. I may have had a better shot at winning the lottery according to the fertility center.

The next few years were spent trying to find a new door. I immediately went back to my roots, acupuncture and herbs. I ignored the naysayers, I thanked those who offered support, and respected and understood those who, out of sheer concern, encouraged me to, "let it go" and pray for peace but most importantly I began to believe in my body again. A part of me considered "letting it go" but i just couldnt .. when you know you know, and I just knew God had other plans for me. I kept monitoring, doing my herbs, and receiving acupuncture. In Sept of 2023 I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant... no hormones, drugs or Western intervention... just God's grace and the miracles of Eastern medicine. My son, Niko, is 3 months old today, and I am 46 years old.

If you're reading this, I implore you to keep fighting for whatever it is you want out of life. Even when all doors seem closed, find another ❤️
