Rest is extremely important, especially once the holidays are here.
Try to balance your weekend with getting errands and chores done, but also getting some rest.
Winter time is an especially good time to try to slow down, take it easy and recharge your batteries.

The holidays are a time that a lot of us travel, including seniors.
These are good tips.
Making special accommodations ahead of time is especially important if your elderly loved one needs assistance with things like mobility. (wheelchair)
Having a good book or a couple of magazines is nice to pass the time as well and making sure to have all medications, vitamins and daily essentials is very important.

It can be tough to avoid taking an afternoon nap, especially when it's cold and dreary right now, but it does help to get better sleep at night.
Or try taking power naps, like 20-25 minutes, if needed. Set an alarm.
If you can, help your elderly family and friends to enjoy interests so that they might not be too tired during the day.
Listening to music, reading, knitting, etc.

Here are a few cold weather tips for elders.
Make sure to have good foot wear also so that feet stay warm and dry and do not slip on tricky surfaces.
Making sure that elders have warm pajamas and bedding, blankets, comforters, etc. is also a good idea as well.
